46 Possible Causes for Abdominal Pain, Peripheral T Cells Decreased, Pertussis

  • Influenza

OBJECTIVES: Influenza and pertussis vaccination programmes have been in place for pregnant women in the UK since 2009 and 2012, respectively.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Abdominal pain, often severe enough to require differentiation from acute appendicitis, emerged as a dominant symptom, especially in older children.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] In contrast, IL-1R1 / mice showed a dramatic decrease in CD4 T-cell proliferation, suggesting that efficient T-helper cell priming in peripheral organs is dependent on a functional[doi.org]

  • Food Allergy

Compared with infants who receive aP as their first pertussis vaccine, those who receive wP appear less likely to mount Th2 immune responses to either vaccine or extraneous[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Symptoms of lactose intolerance may include abdominal pain and bloating, diarrhoea and flatulence.[hc-sc.gc.ca] This causes low FOXP3 mRNA levels and markedly decreased protein expression in peripheral blood lymphocytes of affected patients.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Asthma

Bordetella pertussis positive individuals had lower FEV 1 /FVC (77.1% v 80.7%, p   0.012) and more asthma symptoms than B pertussis negative cases.[dx.doi.org] […] symptoms (cough, wheezing, chest tightness), but they can also induce skin flushing, rash, abdominal pain and occasionally vomiting.[aaaai.org] RT‑qPCR demonstrated that VDR expression in the peripheral blood of asthmatic children was decreased.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Preterm Labor

[…] chloroquine, ChQ) reverses the rise in intracellular Ca 2 concentration ([Ca 2 ] i ) and cell shortening induced by uterotonics, and this reversal effect is inhibited by pertussis[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] METHODS: Prospectively collected data of pregnant women presenting with symptoms of preterm labor (abdominal pain or tightening) at 24-34 weeks' gestation were retrieved from[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] cells in peripheral blood was significantly decreased.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
