906 Possible Causes for amikacin

  • Urinary Tract Infection

INTRODUCTION: We evaluated the bladder oxidative stress in neurogenic bladder children treated with intravesical amikacin for recurrent UTI and whether urinary isoprostane[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Only 13% and 24% of children received amikacine alone for empirical or definitive therapy, respectively, whereas 88.7% of children had isolates susceptible to amikacin.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Patient was successfully treated with antimicrobial therapy with piperacillin-tazobactam and amikacin.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Otitis Media

Staphylococcus aureus was sensitive to Amikacin and gentamycin.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Pneumonia

The clinical outcome was favourable after twenty-one days of antimicrobial treatment by piperacillin/tazobactam and amikacin then cefepime.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Tuberculosis

After LT, the regimen was changed to second-line anti-TB drugs (amikacin, levofloxacin, cycloserine, and pyridoxine).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Finally, XDR-TB is resistant to those two drugs, plus any fluoroquinolone and at least one of the three injectable second-line drugs, capreomycin, kanamycin and amikacin.[scientificamerican.com] Administer at least 3 (preferably 4-5) of the following medications, according to drug susceptibilities: An aminoglycoside: Streptomycin, amikacin, capreomycin, kanamycin[emedicine.medscape.com]

  • Drug-induced Fever

[…] reactions, serum sickness, vaginal candidiasis Cross-hypersensitivity may occur in patients with documented penicillin allergy List of Aminoglycosides Gentamicin, tobramycin, amikacin[drugs.com]

  • Nephritis

The clinical courses of the three patients were similar, and they were treated with PIPC-TAZ and amikacin (AMK) for AFBN.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation

Five days after admission, ethambutol, moxifloxacin, and amikacin were added to the patient without further active hemorrhage.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Breast Abscess

Despite cloxacilin, then ceftazidime and amikacin, initial improvement was followed 2 weeks later by nodular pulmonary infiltration with cavitation.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Isepamicin

Adverse events occurred in 15% of isepamicin patients and 6% of amikacin patients.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] […] all criteria for evaluability (120 isepamicin, 61 amikacin: efficacy population).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Median peak serum levels were 19.7 mg/l for isepamicin and 19.20 mg/l for amikacin. Median trough serum levels were 0.72 mg/l for isepamicin and 0.68 mg/l for amikacin.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Preterm Labor

The neonate was admitted in neonatal intensive care unit and administered ampicillin and amikacin. H. cinaedi was isolated from umbilical cord blood culture.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
