1,108 Possible Causes for Anemia, Cholelithiasis

  • Malignant Neoplasm

An anemia-inducing substance (AIS) was found as a protein, with a molecular weight of 50,000 on SDS electrophoresis gel, that decreased the osmotic resistance of erythrocytes[] The patient also had chronic pancreatitis and cholelithiasis.[] Laboratory findings showed no abnormalities, except for a slightly elevated C-reactive protein value and iron deficiency anemia.[]

  • Sickle Cell Disease

Sickle cell anemia is an autosomal recessive disorder.[] Cholelithiasis Cholelithiasis is common in children with SCD, as chronic hemolysis with hyperbilirubinemia is associated with the formation of bile stones.[] Abdominal ultrasound should be used whenever patients present with abdominal pain to rule out cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, or ectopic pregnancy.[]

  • Hereditary Spherocytosis

To date only three siblings with coinheritance of sickle cell anemia (SCA) and hereditary spherocytosis (HS) have been reported.[] This is a report of an 11 years old male diagnosed case of hereditary spherocytosis who presented with jaundice, splenomegaly and cholelithiasis.[] Hereditary spherocytosis (HS) and pyruvate kinase (PK) deficiency are the most common causes of congenital hemolytic anemia.[]

  • Short Bowel Syndrome

Anastomotic ulcers are a known cause of anemia in children with a history of intestinal resection.[] Limketkai Cholelithiasis and Nephrolithiasis Andrew Ukleja and John Rivas Metabolic Bone Disease in Adults with Short Bowel Syndrome Lynn R. Mack and Fedja A.[] Cholelithiasis 36.   Increase risk in colon preserved patients  Binding of non absorbed FFA with calcium releases free oxalate which are soluble and absorbed in colon []

  • Primary Biliary Cirrhosis

Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) associated with Evans syndrome; combination of autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) and immune thrombocytopenic[] Associations cholelithiasis ( 40%) 8 other autoimmune diseases, e.g.[] Pearls and Pitfalls Lab tests alone do not reliably distinguish cholelithiasis from acute cholecystitis.[]

  • Cooley's Anemia

The dermatoglyphic analysis of a group of Italiam patients with Cooley's anemia and Cooley's trait shows Cooley's anemia patients to undergo a significant increase of loops[] […] particularly in the middle and anterior portions of the ribs premature fusion of the epiphyses osteoporosis 4 extramedullary haematopoiesis Gastrointestinal: hepatobiliary cholelithiasis[] Common symptoms include pallor, jaundice, leg ulcers, gallstones (cholelithiasis), and abnormal enlargement of the liver and spleen.[]

  • Cystic Fibrosis

Female sex and chronic anemia were independent predictors of readmission.[] […] replacement of pancreas pancreatitis ( acute and chronic ) pancreatic cysts liver hepatic steatosis focal biliary and multilobular cirrhosis portal hypertension biliary system cholelithiasis[] When CF is not treated for a longer period, a child may develop symptoms of malnutrition, including anemia, bloating, and, paradoxically, appetite loss.[]

  • Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis

[…] cea mai frecventa cauza de crestere usoara a bilirubinei neconjugate (pg 280)\*\Which is the most frequent cause of a mild rise in unconjugated bilirubin (s 280) a) [ ] \*\anemia[] Two siblings presented, before the age of 30 years, recurrent symptomatic cholelithiasis and extensive biliary fibrosis that progressed towards portal hypertension and liver[] […] de Fanconi #227650 #227645 #614082 #300514 Anemia Diseritropoiética Congénita #224120 #224100 Anemia hemolítica por déficit de hexoquinasa #235700 Anemia megaloblástica sensible[]

  • Islet Cell Tumor

A patient with a somatostatin (SRIH)-secreting islet cell tumor, whose only symptoms were dyspepsia and anemia, is described.[] Its sequelae include diabetes and cholelithiasis. Non-functional ICTs The tumors of this type are usually asymptomatic. They account for the minority of all ICTs.[] […] ypokalemia , and a chlorhydria (WDHA or pancreatic cholera syndrome) somatostatinoma : these rare tumors are associated with elevated blood glucose levels, achlorhydria , cholelithiasis[]

  • Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria

Anemia work-up revealed a misunderstood association of a hemolytic anemia with a negative direct antiglobulin test and iron deficiency.[] The frequency of PNH clone detected in aplastic anemia and non-aplastic anemia groups was 12.02 and 3.36%, respectively.[] The median telomere length of aplastic anemia patients was -0.99 standard deviation (SD) (range -4.01- 3.01 SD).[]
