979 Possible Causes for Aortic Valve Stenosis, Hypothyroidism

  • Fabry Disease

We identified 2 individuals with subclinical hypothyroidism.[pediatrics.aappublications.org] valve stenosis and Fabry disease cardiomyopathy, as well as 10 healthy controls.[escardio.org] Currently, all US states also screen for congenital hypothyroidism, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, and galactosemia.[clinchem.org]

  • Turner Syndrome

Three girls from that subgroup were euthyroid, 5 had subclinical hypothyroidism, and 3 were diagnosed with overt hypothyroidism.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiogram revealed a bicuspid aortic valve with severe aortic stenosis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] However, it is becoming increasingly evident that adults with Turner's syndrome are also susceptible to a range of disorders, including osteoporosis, hypothyroidism, and renal[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Iron Deficiency Anemia

Iron deficiency can often times be confused with low thyroid or hypothyroidism. Iron loss can contribute to a multitude of health problems – not just fatigue.[glutenfreesociety.org] Conditions causing this type of anemia include the following: Advanced kidney disease Hypothyroidism Other chronic diseases, such as cancer, infection, lupus, diabetes, and[webmd.com] Serum ferritin Rarely, ferritin values are lowered by the presence of either hypothyroidism or vitamin C deficiency.[clinicaladvisor.com]

  • Coronary Atherosclerosis

We included subjects with normal thyroid function (0.4-4.0 mIU/L, and normal free thyroxine, FT4, or 0.8 to 1.9 ng/dL), subclinical hypothyroidism (SCHypo; TSH 4.0 mIU/L and[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] valve stenosis.[healio.com] Genetic factors play a role, and several systemic disorders (eg, hypertension, hypothyroidism) and metabolic disorders (eg, hyperhomocysteinemia) contribute to risk.[merckmanuals.com]

  • Acquired Von Willebrand Syndrome

KEYWORDS: acquired; bleeding; coagulation; hypothyroidism; von Willebrand syndrome[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] KEYWORDS: acquired von Willebrand syndrome; antiphospholipid antibody; aortic valve replacement surgery; aortic valve stenosis[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] AIMS: Acquired von Willebrand syndrome (aVWS) is a common complication of severe aortic valve stenosis and can be corrected by surgical valve replacement.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Hypotension

It may be associated with the following: Pregnancy Hormonal problems such as an underactive thyroid ( hypothyroidism ), diabetes , or low blood sugar ( hypoglycemia ) Some[webmd.com] […] such as aortic stenosis that reduce the flow of blood from the heart and into the arteries.[medicinenet.com] It may be associated with the following: Pregnancy Hormonal problems such as an underactive thyroid ( hypothyroidism ), diabetes, or low blood sugar ( hypoglycemia ) Some[webmd.com]

  • Hashimoto Thyroiditis

[…] review, this is the first reported case of reactive thrombocytosis due to Hashimoto's thyroiditis and/or subclinical hypothyroidism.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The abnormal valve structure leads to turbulent flow, fibrosis, calcification, and aortic stenosis. Aortic stenosis increases perioperative morbidity and mortality.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] We report a case of acute mania associated with hypothyroidism resulting from HT.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Bradycardia

[…] with trisomy 21 including associated congenital heart disease, atlantoaxial instability, tracheal and subglottic stenosis, a predisposition to respiratory complications, hypothyroidism[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Undergoing heart valve surgery such as the TAVR procedure for aortic stenosis , the mitraclip procedure for mitral regurgitation , mitral valve replacement or mitral valve[myheart.net] Causes: congenital hypothyroidism hypothermia post myocardial infarct raised intra-cranial pressure drugs eg beta-blockers, digitalis, hypotensives rapid rise in blood pressure[gpnotebook.co.uk]

  • Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

[…] cardiomyopathies, eg, Chagas’ disease, HIV, enterovirus, adenovirus, and cytomegalovirus. 13 Metabolic cardiomyopathy includes the following categories: Endocrine, eg, thyrotoxicosis, hypothyroidism[circ.ahajournals.org] This problem also occurs with aortic valve stenosis, in which the aortic valve becomes thickened and fails to open normally.[heartdisease.about.com] ., aortic valve stenosis, high blood pressure, among others) should be ruled out. Another option is genetic testing.[emaxhealth.com]

  • Hypovolemia

[…] gonadal axis 視床下部・性腺系 hypothalamic hormone 視床下部ホルモン hypothalamic pituitary-adrenal axis 視床下部・下垂体・副腎系 hypothalamus 視床下部 hypothermia 低体温/低体温療法 hypothermia of newborn 新生児低体温 hypothyroidism[jpeds.or.jp] Abnormal left ventricular intracavitary flow acceleration in patients undergoing aortic valve replacement for aortic stenosis.[ccforum.com] Dynamic IVO may also appear in the postoperative setting, notably after aortic stenosis repair, or even after mitral valve repair, if the position of the mitral prosthesis[ccforum.com]
