823 Possible Causes for Arthralgia, Hematuria

  • Urinary Tract Infection

We report the case of a 5-year-old girl who presented with hematuria and a urinary tract infection and on workup was found to have a large bladder mass.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Nitrofurantoin 100: 21/28 Both groups: Nausea, headache, epigastralgia, and arthralgia/myalgia Brumfitt 1985 Trimethoprim‐sulphamethoxazole 100: 0/38 Nitrofurantoin 100: 6[dx.doi.org] Hematuria may be present but does not help differentiate pyelonephritis from cystitis. Urine culture reveals 10 5 CFU/mL in 80% to 95% of cases.[web.archive.org]

  • Henoch-Schönlein Purpura

However, half of the DEP-HSPN patients continuously had hematuria after treatment.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Arthritis/arthralgia may be a risk factor according to the criteria of the American College of Rheumatology (1.41, 1.01-1.96).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] We report the cases of two HSP patients presenting with gross hematuria, blood clotting, and colicky flank pain, followed by purpura on the lower extremities.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Cryoglobulinemia

She had renal function decline, microscopic hematuria, and proteinuria.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The phenomenon is generally seen after several years of chronicity predominantly in the female population resulting in arthralgias, purpuras, and other symptoms, due to vasculitis[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] He was found to have proteinuria, hematuria, RBC casts, low serum complement levels, and acute kidney injury (AKI).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Microscopic Polyangiitis

Seven patients manifested with hematuria and proteinuria, with renal histopathology of fibrinoid necrosis/exudation of the glomerular capillaries.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] We hereby present a 14-year-old girl with arthralgia, seizure, leukocytoclastic vasculitis, interstitial lung disease secondary to recurrent pulmonary hemorrhage, pauci-immune[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Abstract A 68-year-old man, who had worked for processing quartz-containing stones for more than 50 years, complained of low-grade fever and arthralgia.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Polyarteritis Nodosa

Herein, we describe a patient who was initially diagnosed with lupus nephritis based on her clinical presentation, proteinuria, hematuria, positive anti-nuclear antibody,[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] It is limited to the skin and has a recurrent and chronic course, possibly associated with fever, arthralgia, myalgia and neuropathy, but without visceral involvement.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] PRESENTATION: We describe the case of a 51-year-old woman who presented with a 4-day-history of intense pain in her left flank, hypertension, fever, microscopic hematuria,[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis

She had sinusitis and hematuria; she was diagnosed with granulomatosis with polyangiitis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Following treatment, the patient was asymptomatic for 6 weeks until he developed acute renal failure, generalised arthralgia, acute hypertensive anterior uveitis, and dacryoadenitis[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The most common presenting symptoms are malaise and fever, sinusitis, epistaxis, and hematuria.[pediatrics.aappublications.org]

  • Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Abstract We report a 55-year old woman with microscopic polyangiitis who presented with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and 1 year later developed hematuria and proteinuria.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Extrapulmonary features may include arthralgia, muscle pains and skin rashes. Obstructive sleep apnoea may be a common presenting feature.[patient.info] She had hematuria with red blood cell casts, nephrotic range proteinuria (3.5g/24 hours) and significantly elevated anti-glomerular basement membrane glomerulonephritis titers[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Immunosuppressant therapy relieved him of the edema and hematuria, but he regained the symptoms after a cold.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Here we report a case in which an elderly female presented with malar rash, intermittent fever, and arthralgia.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] While classic manifestations consist of arthralgia, myalgia, frank arthritis, a malar rash and renal failure to name a few, cardiac tamponade, however, is a far less common[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Hemophilia

Hematuria is frequent in hemophilia.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The most common adverse reactions reported (incidence 10%) were injection site reactions, headache, and arthralgia.[fda.gov] Common side effects of Hemlibra include injection site reactions, headache, and joint pain (arthralgia).[fda.gov]

  • Hemophilia A

Hematuria is frequent in hemophilia.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] […] of AAV5-hFVIII-SQ Infusion The adverse events that were reported in at least three of the nine participants were an increased alanine aminotransferase level (in seven), arthralgia[doi.org] .  Genitourinary Bleeding: Frequently severe hemophiliac can experience hematuria and a structural lesion should be ruled out. 14.[slideshare.net]
