  • Pierre Robin Syndrome

A nine day old boy who had the Pierre Robin syndrome also had an unusual associated hand malformation consisting of bilateral clinodactyly of the index finger.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] In the majority of cases the Pierre Robin syndrome is seen without other significant defects than the triad of micrognathia, cleft palate and glossoptosis.[pediatrics.aappublications.org] In addition, micrognathia and glossoptosis affect formation of the palate during development before birth, which often leads to cleft palate.[ghr.nlm.nih.gov]
