25 Possible Causes for Blepharitis, Eczema, Peripheral T Cells Decreased

  • Food Allergy

This causes low FOXP3 mRNA levels and markedly decreased protein expression in peripheral blood lymphocytes of affected patients.[] Whilst the association between eczema and food allergy is well established, the role of dietary manipulation in children with eczema remains controversial.[] […] production of T cells.[]

  • Psoriasis

An elderly male with palmoplantar psoriasis developed periocular psoriasis in the form of blepharitis and conjunctivitis following an external dacryocystorhinostomy as a manifestation[] Treatment of psoriasis results in a decreased expression of type 1 cytokines by both peripheral blood and lesional T-cells that correlates with clearing of the lesions, as[] Eczema Eczema (also known as atopic dermatitis) can develop at any age, even during infancy. It usually begins before age 5.[]

  • Reiter's Syndrome

Squamous blepharitis and mild angular conjunctivitis were present. Circinate balanitis and oral lesions were conspicuous by their absence.[] In some cases, lymphocyte phenotyping reveals abnormal (activated) T-cell subsets (CD4 T cells with decreased or absent expression of surface CD3).[] We report the case of an HIV-positive patient with secondary syphilis, scaling palmoplantar keratoderma, scrotal eczema, balanitis and urethritis mimicking Reiter's syndrome[]

  • Influenza

He was a smoker, had mild recurrent labial herpes, and was treated for glaucoma, a recurrent mild allergic blepharitis, and conjunctivitis.[] In contrast, IL-1R1 / mice showed a dramatic decrease in CD4 T-cell proliferation, suggesting that efficient T-helper cell priming in peripheral organs is dependent on a functional[] Atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema, is a non-contagious inflammatory skin condition.[]

  • Exfoliative Dermatitis

Figure 23-4 Pityriasis rubra pilaris exfoliative dermatitis with keratoderma.[] […] scabies mites • CD4 t cells are decreased in exfoliative dermatitis (in absence of HIV), studied by Griffiths et al. • HIV test – PCR better than ELISA, • Chest X ray done[] The patient had neither a personal history of skin disorders or, specifically, atopic eczema or psoriasis nor a family history of eczema or psoriasis.[]

  • Graft-versus-Host-Disease

Signs Ocular GVHD is associated with meibomian gland obstruction, anterior and posterior blepharitis.[] These cells induce allogeneic T cell death in response to interferon-γ, resulting in regulatory T cell expansion and immunosuppression.[] Each potential cause of eczema was considered in our patients.[]

  • Mycosis Fungoides

Blepharitis was diagnosed in 4 patients (57.1%), with positive skin cultures revealing: methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus ( n  2), staphylococcus aureus ( n  1)[] Guilhou, Decreased expression of Fas (APO‐1/CD95) on peripheral blood CD4 T lymphocytes in cutaneous T‐cell lymphomas, British Journal of Dermatology, 143, 6, (1205-1210),[] It can be seen in children and is usually mistaken for eczema, vitiligo, or progressive macular hypomelanosis, clinically and histopathologically.[]

  • Autosomal Dominant Hyper-IgE Syndrome

There were 3 cases of acute E. coli pyelonephritis, 5 patients had recurrent bacterial conjunctivitis, 3 had blepharitis, and 4 had recurrent chalazion (due to Streptococcus[] Decreased serum IgM concentrations and peripheral blood T-cell counts are important laboratory findings of DOCK8 deficiency.[] Steroid drugs can be applied topically or systemically in the case of severe eczema.[]

  • Chronic Generalized Exfoliative Dermatitis

  • Immunologic Deficiency Syndromes

Involvement of the lacrimal and salivary glands is the hallmark feature, resulting in symptoms of dry eyes and dry mouth, and possible complications, such as corneal damage, blepharitis[] decrease and pulmonary homing of CD4 CD45RO helper memory T cells in cystic fibrosis, Respir Med, 2002, vol. 96 (pg. 87 - 94 ) 22 Diagnostic findings in 95 Finnish patients[] ., MD Clinical Interests Food allergy Anaphylaxis Food sensitivity Immunodeficiency Eczema (atopic dermatitis) Eosinophilic disorders Allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (hay fever[]
