15 Possible Causes for Bronchiectasis, Mesocardia, Normal Electrocardiogram

  • Scimitar Syndrome

Figure 1 Preoperative Chest X-ray showed a dextroposition and mesocardia with scimitar vein.[] The electrocardiogram showed left axis deviation and chest X-ray revealed cardiomegaly with pulmonary plethora.[] Other associated anomalies including the presence of an anomalous feeding artery and pulmonary sequestration, abnormal lobar pattern, localized bronchiectasis, horseshoe lung[]

  • Levocardia

Plain X-ray films of the chest and abdomen showed a normally located heart and a right-sided stomach ( Fig. 1 ). The electrocardiogram was normal with sinus rhythm.[] Other forms of cardiac malposition, including dextrocardia, mesocardia and criss-cross heart, with chest radiograph and CMR correlation, are also discussed.[] Keywords Bronchiectasis Frontal Sinus Situs Inversus Maxillary Sinusitis Dextrocardia These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.[]

  • Dextrocardia

Fig. 2 A right-sided, 12-lead electrocardiogram shows normal axis and normal progression of R-wave amplitude in the precordial leads.[] […] containing back-references to 746.87 : Abdomen, abdominal - see also condition heart 746.87 Anomaly, anomalous (congenital) (unspecified type) 759.9 Asplenia 759.0 with mesocardia[] Some 20% of patients with dextrocardia with situs inversus display Kartagener's syndrome, which includes chronic sinusitis, nasal polyposis and bronchiectasis.[]

  • Situs Inversus

[…] with normal lead placement showed marked right axis deviation with negative p wave in lead aVL and I.[] Mesocardia, a midline heart is sometimes regarded as a fourth malposition.[] Bronchiectasis are caused by recurrent infection and inflammation of the airways. HRCT of the lung is used to demonstrate and assess the severity of bronchiectasis.[]

  • Mesocardia

mesocardia — meso·car·dia … English syllables mesocardia — n. placing of heart in middle of thorax … Dictionary of difficult words mesocardia — ˌme]zōˈkärdēə, ˌmē], ]sō noun[] The echocardiography showed a cardiac malposition with the heart in the middle of the thorax, the atria in concordance with the ventricles, the great vessels in the normal[] In 1933, Kartagener 31 called attention to the association of sinusitis, bronchiectasis, and situs inversus, a combination subsequently called Kartagener’s syndrome or triad[]

  • Situs Inversus Abdominalis

Situs solitus is the normal position, and situs inversus is the mirror image of situs solitus.[] Mesocardia Heart in a midline position, stomach on left. Usually associated with a normal heart.[] […] inversus (syndrome) (triad) 759.3 Situs inversus or transversus 759.3 abdominalis 759.3 thoracis 759.3 Syndrome - see also Disease Kartagener's (sinusitis, bronchiectasis[]

  • Cardiac Anomalies-Heterotaxy Syndrome

There may be levocardia, dextrocardia, or mesocardia (midline or indeterminate apical orientation). Left isomerism is usually associated with polysplenia.[] This was my normal.[] Computerized tomography of chest showed bilateral lower lobe bronchiectasis with dextrocardia (Figure 8).[]

  • Benign Adult Familial Myoclonic Epilepsy

[…] lipogranuloma Mesenteric panniculitis Mesial temporal lobe epilepsy with hippocampal sclerosis Mesoaxial polydactyly Mesoaxial synostotic syndactyly with phalangeal reduction Mesocardia[] The electrocardiogram was normal.[] : J47 - Exacerbation (acute): J47 - Lower respiratory infection: J47 - Acquired: J98.09 - With bronchiectasis: J47 - With exacerbation (acute): J47 - With lower respiratory[]

  • Congenital Pericardium Anomaly

Her cardiac examination was completely normal. Her electrocardiogram showed poor R wave progression.[] […] tumours, kyphoscoliosis, abnormalities of the diaphragm. cardiac orientation - the base to apex orientation of the heart: levocardia - apex directed to the left of the midline mesocardia[] […] absence of lung (fissures)(lobe) Aplasia of lung Hypoplasia lung (lobe) Sequestration of lung 748.6_ Other anomalies of lung 0 Anomaly of lung, unspecified 1 Congenital bronchiectasis[]

  • Congenital Leukonychia

Thyroid profile, chest X-ray, ultrasonography of abdomen, electrocardiogram, and 2D Echo were normal.[] […] heart block Complete or incomplete atrioventricular [AV] block 746.87 Malposition of heart and cardiac apex Abdominal heart Dextrocardia Ectopia cordis Levocardia (isolated) Mesocardia[] This syndrome is associated with lymphedema (lymphatic drainage impaired), pleural effusion and bronchiectasis 7. blue nails Nails turning blue, or just a crescent over –[]
