64 Possible Causes for Complete Blood Count Abnormal, Echogenic Kidneys, small

  • Urinary Tract Infection

Although some of small studies demonstrated a small benefit for women with recurrent UTIs, there were no statistically significant differences when the results of a much larger[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Ultrasonography revealed large hypoechoic mass, including multiple cysts in the upper pole of the transplanted kidney.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Cervical lymph node histopathology confirmed a diagnosis of small cell carcinoma of the lung.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Malabsorption Syndrome

We describe the case of a 51-year-old woman presenting with chronic small bowel diarrhoea and malabsorption.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Ultrasound showed both kidneys to be 9.5 cm in length with mild cortical thinning and increased echogenicity. Her daily urine volume ranged between 2000-2600 mL.[consultant360.com] The cause of her complaints turned out to be immunoproliferative small intestinal disease which is a very uncommon disorder in our geographical region.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Henoch-Schönlein Purpura

Simultaneous involvement of small intestine and colon is rare.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Ultrasound Echogenic kidneys, target or doughnut sign in case of intussusception.[radiopaedia.org] The small bowel is the most frequently involved GI site. Intussusception is rare but is the most common surgical complication.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Cystic Kidney

In contrast to hereditary cystic kidney disease, ACKD is characterized by the presence of multiple small cysts in bilaterally small kidneys.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] A cohort of 44 families in whom antenatal renal ultrasound scanning findings in affected cases included bilateral cystic kidney disease, echogenic kidneys or enlarged kidneys[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] […] and papillary structures with admixture of small foci of highly cellular sarcomatoid features.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Acute Kidney Failure

A clinical suspicion of small vessel vasculitis (SVV) was thought, serology was also positive for various markers of SVV.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] In evaluation of the acute changes in the kidney, the echogenicity of the renal structures, the delineation of the kidney, the renal vascularity, kidney size and focal abnormalities[en.wikipedia.org] We report the relationship between long-term mortality and AKI with small changes in serum creatinine during hospitalization after various cardiothoracic surgery procedures[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Nephroblastoma

The right gonad also was an ovotestis with a tiny focus of small cell malignancy that was suggestive of nephroblastoma.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] View/Print Table TABLE 5 Differential Diagnosis of Abnormal Complete Blood Count Infections Nonspecific viral syndrome Epstein-Barr virus infection Cytomegalovirus infection[aafp.org] At US, the enlarged kidney may have diffusely decreased echogenicity.[pubs.rsna.org]

  • Hydronephrosis

In most cases they are very small, but very few cases are reported in the literature where they exceed 15 cm of diameter.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Urinalysis to look for blood, infection or abnormal cells Complete blood count ( CBC ) may reveal anemia or potential infection Electrolyte analysis may be helpful in chronic[medicinenet.com] Prenatal ultrasound showed left hydronephrosis with a tortuous ureter, right hydronephrosis, and increased echogenicity of the kidneys.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Polycystic Kidney Disease

Thus, this small molecule inhibitor could be evaluated in a clinical trial as a viable therapy of ADPKD. Published by Elsevier Inc.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] These include: Serum chemistry profile, including calcium and phosphorus Complete blood cell count Urinalysis Urine culture Uric acid determination Intact parathyroid hormone[symptoma.com] The kidneys are often diffusely echogenic.[emedicine.com]

  • Chronic Kidney Insufficiency

Patients with abnormal kidney size (particularly if small) typically have some form of underlying kidney disease.[clinicaladvisor.com] However, we all leak tiny amounts of a small protein called albumin into our urine.[patient.info] […] poor visibility of the renal pyramids and the renal sinus marginal irregularities papillary calcifications cysts (see also: acquired cystic kidney disease ) Abnormal Doppler[radiopaedia.org]

  • Amyloidosis

This article focuses on small bowel amyloidosis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] At US, amyloidosis is one of the rare causes of increased echogenicity and enlarged kidneys (, Fig 20 ).[pubs.rsna.org] In addition, a unique pattern of amyloid deposition was observed in spleen, adrenal glands, small intestine, gallbladder, lungs, ovaries, and uterus.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
