In our study, 56 cases with fungal keratitis (just single eye) and 23 cases with bacterial keratitis were included.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Adenoviral conjunctivitis may lead to subepithelial corneal infiltrates as a late complication.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] He had undergone a corneal tear repair on that eye 15 days prior to the onset of keratitis. The infiltrations were along the sutured corneal tear tracts.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Fungal Keratitis

A fungal keratitis is an 'inflammation of the eye's cornea' (called keratitis) that results from infection by a fungal organism.[en.wikipedia.org] The corneal infiltrate findings were suggestive of fungal keratitis, and corneal smears were positive for septate fungal hyphae.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The patient responded to amphotericin B treatment and the corneal infiltration resolved, leaving a plaquelike corneal scar.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

Three (42.85%) patients with fungal keratitis were farmers.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The best corrected visual acuity, location, size, and density of corneal infiltrates, the size and presence of a corneal epithelial defect, subjective eye pain (scale of 0[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The area of the corneal ulcer was central in three, and paracentral in three eyes. The corneal infiltrate was small in one eye, and medium in five eyes.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Acanthamoeba Keratitis

To report fungal infection complicating Acanthamoeba keratitis. Case report.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] It typically presents as a unilateral central or paracentral corneal infiltrate, often with a ring-shaped peripheral infiltrate.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] BACKGROUND: The clinical features of Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK) are non-specific and closely resemble bacterial, viral and fungal keratitis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
