382 Possible Causes for Ectopia Lentis, Sudden Death, X-Ray Abnormal

  • Marfan Syndrome

We present a case of Marfan syndrome with lens coloboma in one eye and ectopia lentis in the other. A 14-year-old girl reported decreased vision in the left eye.[] These aneurysms upon rupture may lead to sudden deaths.[] Diagnosis Clinical criteria Genetic testing Echocardiography/MRI (measurement of the aortic root, detection of valve prolapse) Slit-lamp examination (lens abnormalities) X-rays[]

  • Mesenteric Cyst

Comparison of 20 patients from North America with patients from Hawaii and Japan. ‎ 896 ページ - Genetic linkage of the Marfan syndrome, ectopia lentis, and congenital contractural[] Two cases of sudden death in young female children due to small intestinal volvulus are reported, which involved a mesenteric defect and a mesenteric cyst.[] A plain abdominal X-ray film revealed displacement of colonic gas from the right lower abdomen, and abdominal ultrasonography and computed tomography revealed a smooth cystic[]

  • Aortic Disease

lentis.[] Sudden death that seems "heart related" may sometimes actually have been caused by thoracic aortic disease.[] On an infrequent basis additional diagnostic tests such as venogram (injection of dye into the vein supplemented by X-ray imaging), or CT-scanning are required.[]

  • Mesenteric Infarction

Ocular abnormalities are microcornea, corneal opacification, corectopia, ectopia lentis, aniridia, cataract, persistent fetal vasculature and/or retinal dysplasia.[] Over a mean of 15.3 months, no recurrent micturition syncope or sudden death occurred in the entire group.[] Plain abdominal X-ray may show abnormal segment outlined with gas. However, the findings may be nonspecific for 12-18 hours after onset.[]

  • Primary Cardiac Sarcoma

lentis[L] 【辺縁角膜炎】*marginal keratitis 【変形細胞症】*poikilocytosis 変形赤血球症 【変形性骨炎】*osteitis deformans[L]/*ostitis deformans[L] 【変形性骨関節炎】*osteoarthritis deformans[L] 【変形性膝関節症】*gonarthrosis[] The pathogenesis of this sudden infant death was postulated as being owing to a fatal ventricular fibrillation combined with a tumor-related restrictive cardiomyopathy obstructing[] This is like an x-ray, but this procedure will provide us with more details than X-ray because it can reveal the abnormal portion of the bone.[]

  • Intestinal Infarction

الصفحة 896 - Genetic linkage of the Marfan syndrome, ectopia lentis, and congenital contractural arachnodactyly to the fibrillin genes on chromosomes 15 and 5.[] A case of sudden death due to massive small intestinal infarction is reported.[] A CT scan (special x-ray) of the abdomen may show abnormalities of the intestine. An angiogram may be obtained.[]

  • Mitral Valve Prolapse

The overlapping and more common mitral valve prolapse syndrome is precluded by ectopia lentis or aortic dilatation.[] As a consequence, sudden death might occur in these patients, thought to be caused by an arrhythmogenic event.[] The physician injects a contrast solution into the artery and takes X-rays to check for blockage and other abnormalities.[]

  • Stroke

Patients have a marfanoid habitus, ectopia lentis, and myopia and generally have intellectual disability. [29] Thromboembolic events are the most common cause of death for[] A very severe stroke can cause sudden death.[] Routine Screening Tests Chest x-ray (CXR) An x-ray of the heart and lungs is a standard test for patients with acute medical problems.[]

  • Aortic Dissection

Ocular features An important distinguishing feature between LDS and MFS is the lack of ectopia lentis in LDS ( 28 ).[] We report sudden death in a patient diagnosed with AAAD and in whom critical care ultrasound highly indicated hemorrhagic cardiac tamponade.[] […] findings on chest X-ray.[]

  • Duodenal Stenosis

Seite 896 - Genetic linkage of the Marfan syndrome, ectopia lentis, and congenital contractural arachnodactyly to the fibrillin genes on chromosomes 15 and 5.[] Fetal duodenal obstructions: increased risk of prenatal sudden death. Ultrasound Obstet Gynecol 2002; 20: 439[] Anal examination was very painful, but no abnormalities were palpable. Laboratory and faeces examination as well as abdominal and chest X-rays revealed no abnormalities.[]
