852 Possible Causes for Elevated Sedimentation Rate, Erythema, Sarcoidosis

  • Sarcoidosis

Cutaneous sarcoidosis: differential diagnosis. Clin Dermatol. 2007;25:276-87. [ PubMed ] 3. English JC, Patel PJ, Greer KE. Sarcoidosis.[] We report a case of nivolumab-related sarcoidosis-like syndrome that initially presented with erythema nodosum.[] (especially the erythrocyte sedimentation rate, ESR ).[]

  • Erythema Nodosum

Necrobiosis lipoidica (NL) and cutaneous sarcoidosis are granulomatous disorders with a largely unknown aetiopathogenesis.[] What is erythema nodosum?[] Abnormal laboratory findings may include leukocytosis in excess of 10,000 per mm 3 and elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein levels. 4 Erythema nodosum[]

  • Acute Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is a systemic disease of unknown aetiology.[] Löfgren's syndrome, a specific phenotype of acute sarcoidosis, is characterised by bihilar lymphadenopathy, ankle arthritis and erythema nodosum.[] Chronic sarcoidosis can be asymptomatic, despite radiological changes, which may be extensive.[]

  • Sweet Syndrome

Nearly 50% have other underlying conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, pregnancy, or other connective tissue diseases (RA, SLE , relapsing polychondritis , sarcoidosis[] […] white blood cell count (leukocytosis) Elevated sedimentation rate (ESR) Elevated neutrophils in peripheral blood High C-reactive protein To diagnose Drug-Induced Sweet’s[] Usual clinical differential diagnosis includes erythema multiforme, drug eruption, and erythema nodosum.[]

  • Pulmonary Sarcoidosis

The cutaneous sarcoidosis almost completely resolved after the addition of tacrolimus 0.1% ointment.[] Lupus pernio is more frequently observed in Puerto Ricans while erythema nodosum is more common in Europeans.[] The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) level were elevated. Figure 9.[]

  • Cellulitis

His standard treatment for sarcoidosis consisted of prednisone and methotrexate. Prednisone was stopped at his admission.[] DISCUSSION: The current emergency medicine definition of cellulitis includes erythema, induration, warmth, and swelling.[] […] erythrocyte sedimentation rate, elevated C-reactive protein Skin surface swab, blood cultures, cutaneous aspirates are NOT routinely recommended Recommended ONLY if malignancy[]

  • Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis

Sarcoidosis can be indistinguishable from GPA on imaging; however, frank nasal septal destruction is not a characteristic feature of sarcoidosis [ 19 ].[] It concerns a 37 year-old female undergoing treatment for pulmonary TB, who presented with left ocular proptosis, eyelid and conjunctival edema and erythema.[] Laboratory tests showed markedly elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein in the setting of negative blood and urine cultures.[]

  • Acute Polyarticular Gouty Arthritis

654 DISORDERS OF 664 Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease 671 Lung Abscess 678 Idiopathic Interstitial Pneumonias 684 Miscellaneous Interstitial and AlveolarFilling 693 Sarcoidosis[] […] chronicum migrans Lyme disease Erythema marginatum rheumaticum Rheumatic fever Erythema nodosum Sarcoidosis, Crohn's disease Pyoderma gangrenosum IBD, RA, SLE, anklyosing[] The complete blood cell count (CBC) is normal, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels are slightly elevated.[]

  • Dermatomyositis

She had a history of type-1 diabetes since childhood, partial thyroidectomy for a benign nodule and suspected untreated cutaneous sarcoidosis 4 years previously.[] Initially, dermatomyositis (DM) was considered because of the erythema, polyarthritis, and muscle weakness.[] […] erythrocyte sedimentation rate, presence of antinuclear antibodies, and in patients with weight loss. 8,9 Malignant diseases may occur before the onset of DM, concurrently[]

  • Erythema Multiforme

[…] preservatives, such as benzoic acid and cinnamon [23] Immunologic disorders, such as transient selective C4 deficiency of infancy, [24] collagen diseases, vasculitides, sarcoidosis[] , erythema multiforme type Febrile mucocutaneous syndrome Erythema multiforme bullosum Dermatostomatitis, erythema multiforme type Erythema polymorphe, erythema multiforme[] Laboratory Findings Laboratory findings are non-specific and can include an elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate ( ESR ), elevated white blood cell count ( WBC ), and elevated[]
