18 Possible Causes for Failure to Thrive, Headache, Nodular Heterotopia of the Grey Matter

  • Occipital Lobe Tumor

Heterotopia present as nodular foci of grey matter intensity on all sequences. They do not enhance. Heterotopia Images of a typical subependymal heterotopia.[] When the headache returns, the concern is if the tumor is back or if it is precipitating migraine headaches.[] Hypothalamic: "diencephalic syndrome" (failure to thrive and emaciation in a happy and hungry child).[]

  • Parietal Lobe Tumor

Heterotopia present as nodular foci of grey matter intensity on all sequences. They do not enhance. Heterotopia Images of a typical subependymal heterotopia.[] Volume 1 covers the visual sensory system, the autonomic nervous system, the ocular motor system, the eyelid, facial pain and headache, and nonorganic disease.[] Infants with brainstem tumors may also initially present with failure to thrive.[]

  • Infantile Choroidocerebral Calcification Syndrome

Usually nodular heterotopia at ventricular junction.[] Headaches are typically described migraine-like and can be debilitating. Onset of headaches varies based on the progression of the disease.[] […] to thrive Sensorineural hearing impairment SOURCES: MONDO SCTID ORPHANET MESH GARD OMIM More info about RENAL TUBULAR ACIDOSIS, DISTAL, WITH PROGRESSIVE NERVE DEAFNESS Low[]

  • Genetic Anomaly of Leukocytes

This can be associated with periventricular nodular heterotopia (FLNA-PVNH), a disease characterized by the migration of grey matter to places outside of the cortex in the[] Headaches are common and severe headaches have been associated with aseptic meningitis.[] Fred Ferri’s popular "5 books in 1" format provides quick guidance on menorrhagia, Failure to Thrive (FTT), Cogan’s syndrome, and much more.[]

  • Blepharofacioskeletal Syndrome

MRI of the brain and spine ( Figure 4g–i ) showed nodular subependymal grey matter heterotopia bilaterally in the bodies and occipital horns of the lateral ventricles.[] […] associated with acute substance use Headache associated with AIDS Headache associated with intracranial infection Headache associated with intracranial neoplasms Headache[] […] to thrive Spasticity Prominent nasal bridge Microtia Gastroesophageal reflux Poor speech Oligodactyly Talipes equinovarus Underdeveloped nasal alae Breast hypoplasia Emphysema[]

In addition to the rash, they also reported, most frequently, other symptoms, such as pruritus, headache, myalgia and absence of fever ( Figure 5 ).[] Symptoms of the disorder may include unusual facial appearance, difficulty swallowing, failure to thrive, muscle spasms, seizures, and severe psychomotor retardation.[] Possible symptoms of lissencephaly include: Failure to thrive: Failure to thrive is a condition often seen in newborns in which growth is not occurring as expected.[]

Older children and adults usually have low-flow fistulae.[]

  • Edinburgh Malformation Syndrome

Periventricular Nodular Heterotopia PNH consists of nodules of grey matter located along the lateral ventricles with a total failure of migration of some neurons [Barkovich[] […] a minor complaint, which can include: Acne, Athletes Foot, Backache, Cold Sores, Constipation, Cough, Diarrhoea, Earache, Eczema, Eye infections, Hemorrhoids, Hayfever, Headache[] Symptoms - Edinburgh malformation syndrome * Facial abnormalities * Fluid buildup inside skull * Mental retardation * Retarded motor development * Failure to thrive * Infant[]

  • Congenital Malformation

Nodular heterotopias of grey matter are found in association with other migration disorders and may be the cause of partial seizures.[] Symptoms associated with an arachnoid cyst can include headaches, nausea and vomiting, seizures, hearing and visual disturbances and difficulties with balance and walking.[] These digestive problems can lead to failure to gain weight and grow at the expected rate (failure to thrive) and malnutrition.[]
