530 Possible Causes for Fever, Leukocytosis, Thrombocytosis

  • Appendicitis

Herein, we report a 6-month infant with a 7 days of fever and bilateral pleural effusion, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, thrombocytosis, hypo-albominemia, normal[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Blood test results revealed leukocytosis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] On admission, the patient was in septic shock with leukocytosis and elevation of C-reactive protein. Among other diagnoses, necrotizing fasciitis was suspected.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Primary Myelofibrosis

Objectives: To compare the mutational profiles of patients with primary myelofibrosis (PMF), polycythemia vera (PV), and essential thrombocytosis (ET).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Although ruxolitinib rapidly induced relief, he developed a high-grade fever. A comprehensive fever work-up found no apparent cause of the fever, except for PMF.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Abstract Leukocytosis is occasionally seen in patients with presumptive but undiagnosed myeloproliferative disorders (MPD).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Splenic Infarction

Changes in the blood count included anemia (53%), leukocytosis (49%), and thrombocytosis (7%).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Recent data suggest that antiphospholipid antibodies may be responsible for certain clinical manifestations of acute Q fever.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] A post hoc analysis demonstrated that single infarcts were more likely to be associated with fever (20% vs. 63%, p 0.05) and leukocytosis (75% vs. 33%, P 0.06) CONCLUSIONS[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Chronic Phase of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

KEYWORDS: Acute compartment syndrome; Bleeding complications; Chronic myeloid leukemia; Thrombocytosis[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] In the accelerated phase, the number of CML cells is growing faster and causing symptoms such as fatigue, fever, weight loss and an enlarged spleen.[lls.org] CP-CML patients are generally asymptomatic and diagnosis of the disease is based on the incidental detection of hematological alterations: While leukocytosis 50*10 9/l is[symptoma.com]

  • Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

Three of 4 TKI-treated patients did not reach complete hematologic response due to the persistence of thrombocytosis and/or splenomegaly.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Since November 8, 2017, the patient had recurrent fever, and her platelet count rose to 1422   10/L.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Her disease was managed during pregnancy using interferon-α alone despite persistent leukocytosis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Temporal Arteritis

Hayreh 2003 points out that although essential thrombocytosis has increased thrombotic morbidity, the thrombocytosis in GCA is reactive and thus an antithrombotic agent is[doi.org] Abstract A 76-year-old woman with pulmonary asbestosis was admitted with fever and polymyalgia.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] […] description derived from examining 2 patients: Both patients were admitted to the Clinic in the spring of 1931 because of fever, weakness, anorexia, loss of weight, anemia, mild leukocytosis[medlink.com]

  • Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis

[…] conjunctivitis corneal ulceration skin lesions at high risk of DVT EXAMINATION pleural effusions pulmonary infiltrates skin vasculitis lesions INVESTIGATIONS leucocytosis thrombocytosis[lifeinthefastlane.com] Abstract A 77-year-old man visited our hospital with chief complaints of difficulty in hearing, nasal discharge and fever.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] A normocytic anemia, leukocytosis, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, positive rheumatoid factor and ANCA (specifically PR3-ANCA) are often shown on serology.[jacpjournal.org]

  • Henoch-Schönlein Purpura

[…] have been reported include esophageal stenosis, hemorrhagic pancreatitis, protein-losing enteropathy, pulmonary function abnormalities, pulmonary and pleural hemorrhage, thrombocytosis[jasn.asnjournals.org] […] arthritis and arthralgia, renal disease (low grade hematuria with proteinuria), weakness, necrotic and hemorrhagic plaques, with haematemesis, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fever[bloodjournal.org] Laboratory tests showed leukocytosis, proteinuria, and elevated creatinine. A skin biopsy revealed small-vessel neutrophilic vasculitis.[circ.ahajournals.org]

  • Acute Myelocytic Leukemia

Here we report a case of AML with thrombocytosis arising in a patient with this syndrome.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Abstract A patient with acute nonlymphocytic leukemia developed progressive lung infiltrates and unremitting fevers during a profound neutropenic state.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Thus, the bone marrow and peripheral blood are characterized by leukocytosis with a predominance of immature cells, primarily blasts.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasm with ring sideroblasts and thrombocytosis The criteria for MDS/MPN with ring sideroblasts and thrombocytosis (MDS/MPN-RS-T; previously[doi.org] We present the case of a 10-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who developed a diffuse, morbilliform eruption in the setting of fever and pancytopenia.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] , hematological, and immunocytological) parameters pointed towards a diagnosis of Wilms tumor in our case, the subsequent development of thrombocytopenia and lymphocytic leukocytosis[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
