23 Possible Causes for Guillain-Barré Syndrome, Hypertonicity of the Lower Limbs

  • Cerebral Palsy

Patients with ataxic Guillain-Barré syndrome, as well as those with Miller Fisher syndrome, have been found to carry anti-GQ1b IgG antibodies, suggesting that ataxic Guillain-Barré[dx.doi.org] All had spasticity affecting predominantly the lower limbs, although 2 also had mild hypertonia and ataxia of the upper limbs.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Serum anti-GQ1b IgG antibody is associated with ophthalmoplegia in Miller Fisher syndrome and Guillain-Barré syndrome: clinical and immunohistochemical studies.[dx.doi.org]
