18 Possible Causes for Heart Disease, Tachycardia during Pain Episodes

  • Coronary Artery Disease

Transient ST-segment depression and chest pain detected during ambulatory monitoring were usually associated with tachycardia ( Figure 3 ).[doi.org] Some examples of cardiovascular diseases include ischemic heart disease, heart valve disease, cardiomyopathies, peripheral artery disease, congenital heart disease, and vascular[nhlbi.nih.gov] It was noted that 20% of the episodes of ST-segment depression occurred with a heart rate Figure 3.[doi.org]

  • Holiday Heart Syndrome

During an episode, you may experience symptoms such as: a pounding or fluttering heartbeat ( heart palpitations ) feeling light-headed or dizzy shortness of breath chest pain[nhs.uk] Although many of the patients have underlying heart disease, there are reports of patients with no evident heart disease where acute alcohol injestion has caused arrhythmias[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The holiday heart syndrome should be considered particularly as a diagnosis in patients without overt heart disease presenting with new onset atrial fibrillation.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia

Abstract During episodes of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT), electrocardiograms frequently show ST-segment depressions, and patients may experience typical[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] We found that hs-cTnT levels increased in all our patients with PSVT, more so in those with ischemic heart disease.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The sister, a 24-year-old woman, had intermittent episodes of palpitation accompanied by chest pain for 2 years.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Bradyarrhythmia

Other symptoms experienced during an episode of SVT include dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain, and light-headedness.[washingtonhra.com] […] failure (particularly diastolic heart failure), and ischemic heart disease.[books.google.de] An underlying structural heart disease was not evident.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Variant Angina Pectoris

Ventricular premature beats, ventricular tachycardia and one episode of ventricular fibrillation were recorded.[nejm.org] Angina is not a disease. Rather, angina is a symptom of other issues occurring with the heart, such as coronary heart disease.[pacificmedicaltraining.com] Twenty patients with chronic exertional angina, positive exercise test results and coronary heart disease were compared with 14 patients with variant angina and ST-segment[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome

A child old enough to express himself may complain of chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, lethargy and difficulty in breathing during episodes of tachycardia.[symptoma.com] You will find sites that serve the needs of people who need support for Congenital Heart Defects, along with Coronary Heart Disease.[curlie.org] […] or irregularly) Shortness of breath A physical exam done during a tachycardia episode will show a heart rate faster than 100 beats per minute.[nlm.nih.gov]

  • Lown-Ganong-Levine Syndrome

Average age for the group was 45 years (11 men and 11 women).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Ventricular Tachycardia

If your heart rate during a ventricular tachycardia episode is extremely rapid or continues for several seconds, you may experience some or all of these symptoms.[uabmedicine.org] Abstract In contrast to ventricular tachycardia (VT) that occurs in the setting of a structurally normal heart, VT that occurs in patients with structural heart disease carries[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] METHODS: Patients with structural heart disease undergoing VT RFA at 12 centers with data on prior RFA history were included.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
