1,037 Possible Causes for Hepatosplenomegaly, Leukopenia

  • Infectious Mononucleosis

Both cases involved young adults presenting with fever, pharyngitis, lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, and atypical lymphocytosis confirmed by serologic tests, liver biopsy[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Leukopenia and thrombocytopenia are not uncommon.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Third, the frequency of CD4CXCR5ICOSPD1 Tfh subset was significantly higher in lymphadenectasis or hepatosplenomegaly patients, and associated with the level of alanine aminotransferase[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Primary Myelofibrosis

The main clinical manifestations of PMF are anemia, bleeding, hepatosplenomegaly, fatigue, and fever.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] We found that fibrosis grade 2 and greater on a 0-3 scale was associated with clinical characteristics indicative of a more advanced disease, such as anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Compared with pre-PMF, overt PMF was enriched in patients with anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, higher blast count, symptoms, large splenomegaly, and unfavorable karyotype[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • T-Cell Lymphoma

Hepatosplenomegaly and systemic lymphadenopathy were detected by enhanced computed tomography.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Grade 3/4 leukopenia occurred in 43 (23.4%) patients. Major non-hematological toxicities included nausea (n 117, 63.6%) and vomiting (n 66, 35.9%).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Grades 3/4 adverse events (AEs) included hypophosphademia in 4 patients, leukopenia in 5, neutropenia in 9, and lymphopenia in 18 patients.[onclive.com]

  • Malignant Histiocytosis

A 70-year-old woman was admitted for evaluation of hepatosplenomegaly, fever and elevated serum LDH levels.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Two years later, he manifested persistent fever, leukopenia, effusions and hypoproteinemia, and his general condition worsened progressively.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Anemia, thrombocytopenia, and leukopenia are frequent.[symptoma.com]

  • Familial Myelofibrosis

The illness presented with pallor, haemorrhagic symptoms, and hepatosplenomegaly, and the blood picture was that of pancytopenia and leucoerythroblastosis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Blood counts generally reveal normocytic, normochromic anemia, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia.[symptoma.com] Hepatosplenomegaly may cause irritability, feeding difficulties, loss of appetite and weight. Children may complain about abdominal pain.[symptoma.com]

  • Typhus

Other patients go on to develop a more serious disease, in which encephalitis, pneumonia, and swelling of the liver and spleen (hepatosplenomegaly) occur.[encyclopedia.com] Some of the common abnormalities noted include proteinuria, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, higher levels of transaminase, and hypoalbuminemia.[symptoma.com]

  • Brucellosis

Brucellosis is a systemic zoonotic infectious disease that may cause fever, fatigue, sweating, arthritis, hepatosplenomegaly, cytopenia, and lymphadenopathy.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Leukopenias associated with thrombocytopenia were observed. BMA showed to be normal.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Anemia and leukopenia were defined as hemoglobin levels and leukocyte counts below the standard values in terms of ages, thrombocytopenia as thrombocyte counts below 150,000[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Malaria

A 5-year-old immunocompetent girl presented with fever, jaundice, hepatosplenomegaly and pancytopenia.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Anemia, Leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia are commonly observed hematological abnormalities in malaria and typhoid patients.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Laboratory tests showed anaemia (haemoglobin 11.4 g/dl), severe thrombocytopaenia (platelets 30 10(9)/mm(3)), leukopenia (3650/mm(3)), lymphocytopenia (650/mm(3)).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Hairy Cell Leukemia

Abdominal discomfort is a common symptom, resulting from hepatosplenomegaly.[orpha.net] Later he developed leukopenia and pancytopenia. Bone marrow biopsies showed fibrosis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Symptoms include anemia, fatigue, weight loss, easy bruising, thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia with bacterial infections, bone pain, lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly,[medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com]

  • Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Massive hepatosplenomegaly as a presentation of ALL has not been described previously in any patient population.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] CASE REPORT We report the case of a 58-year-old male patient who presented with severe chest pain, dyspnea, systemic symptoms, leukopenia, normocytic anemia, and severe lactic[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Common side effects of Besponsa include low levels of platelets (thrombocytopenia), low levels of certain white blood cells (neutropenia, leukopenia), infection, low levels[fda.gov]
