316 Possible Causes for HLA-DR3

  • Diabetes Mellitus

There is around 30 to 35% concordance in monozygotic twins. 95% of the patients carry HLA-DR3, HLD-DR4 or both genes.[] Compared with nonautoimmune T2D patients, autoimmune T2D patients are reportedly more commonly positive for HLA-DR3 and -DR4 and their associated DQβ1 alleles 0201 and 0302[] Associated with HLA DR3 and DR4 and islet cell antibodies around the time of diagnosis. Patients always need insulin treatment and are prone to ketoacidosis.[]

  • Graves Disease

[…] and HLA-DR3 Laboratory Increased T3 / T4, increased uptake of radioactive iodine, decreased TSH Clinical Images Images hosted on other servers: Rodney Dangerfield Marty Feldman[] […] and HLA-DR3 Sites Global involvement of thyroid gland Pathophysiology Exact cause is unclear It is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors[] […] genes, particularly HLA-DR3.[]

  • Celiac Disease

We confirmed the high frequency of HLA-DR3 in this population, and we were also able to demonstrate the additional risk of developing celiac disease imparted by HLA-DR7.[] Altogether 655 schoolchildren (18.1 percent) carried the HLA-DQA1*05-DQB1*02 (HLA-DR3–DQ2) haplotype, and 1411 (39 percent) carried either the HLA-DR3–DQ2 or the HLA-DQ-A1[] […] of HLA-DR3-DQ2 and/or DR4-DQ8-positive children.[]

  • Sjogren's Syndrome

We found significantly increased frequency of HLA-DR3 (P less than .001), HLA-DW52a (P less than .001), and HLA-DQA4 (P less than .05), in comparison to normal controls.[] We found significantly increased frequency of HLADR3 ( P .001), HLA‐DW52a ( P .001), and HLA‐DQA4 ( P .05), in comparison to normal controls.[] It is important to note that the HLA-DQ2 haplotype found in 95 % of celiac patients shares a strong linkage to the HLA-DR3 haplotype associated with AIH [ 52 ].[]

  • Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

[…] ulna at DRUJ Imaging Studies Radiographs usually no evidence of joint destruction osteonecrosis of hips is common Labs Usually positive for ANA (95%) anti-DNA antibodies HLA-DR3[] The presence of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)–B8 and HLA-DR3 in the mother may predispose the infant to NLE and congenital heart block.[] (HLA-B8 was most consistently associated with SLE, but was later found to be in linkage disequilibrium with -DQ2 and -DR3.)[]

  • Autoimmune Hepatitis

For example, HLA DR3 positivity only contributes when other antibodies are negative. This calculator correctly scores such circumstances.[] Transgenic AIH mice carrying HLA-DR3 showed reduced diversity and total load of gut microbiota.[]

  • Childhood Celiac Disease

Kaplan–Meier Estimates of CDA in HLA-DR3–DQ2 Homozygotes, According to Country.[] HLA -DR, -DQ genotypes of celiac disease patients serologically typed to be non-DR3 and non-DR5/7. Hum Immunol 1992 ; 35 : 188 -192.[] Methods We studied 6403 children with HLA haplotype DR3–DQ2 or DR4–DQ8 prospectively from birth in the United States, Finland, Germany, and Sweden.[]

  • Chronic Active Hepatitis B

The apparent predisposition of individuals with HLA-B8 and DR3 haplotypes to develop IACAH suggests that genetically conditioned abnormalities may have a role in pathogenesis[]

  • Myasthenia Gravis

The early peak shows a female predominance, approximately 3:1, and an association with HLA-B8, HLA-DR3, and HLA-DR1, the latter being more specific for ocular MG.[] […] abstain from having children. [5] Etiology Genetic studies have revealed a correlation between early-onset myasthenia gravis, which affects women of childbearing age, and the HLA-DR3[] […] and B8 alleles. [6] Additionally, research suggests that certain non-HLA genes affect susceptibility to autoimmune disorders as a whole, thus increasing the risk of myasthenia[]

  • Herpes Gestationis

An additional laboratory finding in patients with HG is their increased frequency of the HLA-B8 and HLA-DR3 haplotypes as well as the HLA-DR3, -DR4 paired haplotype.[] Where HLA typing was possible (in one patient), the combination of HLA-DR3 and HLA-DR4 was found.[] It is associated with the class II antigens HLA-DR3 and HLA-DR4, but its potential association with the "class III antigens" C2, C4, and factor B has not previously been studied[]
