61 Possible Causes for Hypovolemic Shock, Salmonella Typhi

  • Typhoid Fever

Causes Typhoid is caused by the bacterium Salmonella Typhi. It is the most serious of the Salmonella infections.[] The germ that causes typhoid is a unique human strain of salmonella called Salmonella Typhi. Outbreaks are rare.[] Typhoid fever (enteric fever) is a multisystemic bacterial disease caused by salmonella typhi.[]

  • Salmonella Infection

Septic shock may also develop. Shock of mixed character (with signs of both hypovolemic and septic shock) are more common in severe salmonellosis.[] We present a case of enteric fever in which both Salmonella Typhi and Salmonella Paratyphi A were isolated from the blood of a patient traveling from India.[] Histopathology of the mass was suggestive of thymoma and culture from the necrotic aspirate yielded Salmonella typhi.[]

  • Typhus

Both diseases contain the word ‘typhi’ in their official names. Rickettsia typhi is the proper name of typhus and it’s Salmonella typhi for typhoid.[] The antibiotic-resistant strain of Salmonella Typhi, the primary cause of typhoid, emerged within the last 30 years and may represent an ongoing, previously unrecognized epidemic[] Serological tests for Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi, Borrelia recurrentis, Coxiella burnetii, Bartonella quintana, Francisella tularensis, and Anaplasma phagocytophilum[]

  • Food Poisoning

The serovars isolated were: Salmonella Typhi (45.6%), Salmonella Enteritidis (24.4%), Salmonella Paratyphi B (14.4%), Salmonella Typhimurium (13.3%) and Salmonella Paratyphi[] […] drug-resistant nontyphoid Salmonella and Salmonella typhi increase the likelihood of hospitalization and death. [17] Invasive nontyphoid Salmonella infection occurs in about[] ., Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi,...[]

  • Pancreatitis

To avoid going into hypovolemic shock, fluids will be pumped intravenously.[] typhi, Strongyloides stercoralis, Yersinia enterocolitica Drugs: antiretroviral, azathioprine, estrogen, furosemide, methyldopa, pentamidine, procainamide, sulfa, thiazides[] Intravenous fluids will be used to restore any lost fluids and to prevent you going into hypovolemic shock.[]

  • Clostridium Difficile

shock Clinical (history & physical exam) Labs: complete blood count, urine pregnancy test followed with quantitative blood beta-hCG Imaging: transvaginal ultrasound If patient[] Both developed infections are following recent infection - Salmonella enterididis in the first case and Salmonella typhi in the second case.[] High-throughput sequencing technologies have proved to be a powerful approach for studying genetic variation and evolution of monomorphic pathogens such as Salmonella Typhi[]

  • Invasive Non-Typhoidal Salmonellosis

Septic shock was diagnosed in 6/102 (6%) cases; hypovolemic shock (due to fluid loss) was diagnosed in 2/102 (2%); a secondary infection was identified in only 1/6 (17%) patient[] Salmonella Typhi transmission HUMAN restricted, fecal-oral route Developing countries Salmonella Typhi pathogenesis Invade SI, but usually without inflammation.[] DOI PubMed Deng L , Song J , Gao X , Wang J , Yu H , Chen X , Host adaptation of a bacterial toxin from the human pathogen Salmonella Typhi.[]

salmonella infections Includes: infection or foodborne intoxication due to any Salmonella species other than S. typhi and S. paratyphi A02.0 Salmonella enteritis Salmonellosis[] TYPHOID FEVER ETIOLOGICAL AGENT : The cause of typhoid fever is Salmonella typhi .[] typhi A01.1 Paratyphoid fever A A01.2 Paratyphoid fever B A01.3 Paratyphoid fever C A01.4 Paratyphoid fever, unspecified Infection due to Salmonella paratyphi NOS A02 Other[]
