2,025 Possible Causes for Intermittent Dysphagia, Mycobacterium Chelonae, Persistent Cough

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

    The case of a patient with intermittent dysphagia and suspected GERD is discussed. Pharyngoesophageal scintigraphy was performed. Reflux test was negative.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] A 35-year-old Sri Lankan patient, with severe gastroesophageal reflux disease and a hiatus hernia, contracted a pulmonary infection with Mycobacterium fortuitum-chelonae.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] We report a case of persistent cough associated with high plasma levels of the proton pump inhibitor omeprazole in a patient with GERD.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Atypical Mycobacteria
