412 Possible Causes for Intraabdominal Hemorrhage

  • Myelodysplasia

General Information About Myelodysplastic Syndromes Key Points Myelodysplastic syndromes are a group of cancers in which immature blood cells in the bone marrow do not mature or become healthy blood cells. The different types of myelodysplastic syndromes are diagnosed based on certain changes in the blood cells[…][web.archive.org]

  • Ectopic Pregnancy

There was no hemoperitoneum. The tube contained twin gestational sacs. The crown-rump length of the embryos was 2 cm.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Laparoscopy was subsequently performed for the suspicion of ectopic pregnancy with hemoperitoneum.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] A midline laparotomy revealed a ruptured caesarean scar ectopic pregnancy with an abundant hemoperitoneum.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Hepatocellular Carcinoma

The hemoperitoneum subsequent to bleeding of the hepatocellular carcinoma occurs in 5–15% of the cases ( Figure 14 ) (36) .[scielo.br] […] containing many large multinucleated tumor cells, such as occurs in the lungs. hepatocellular carcinoma primary carcinoma of the liver cells with hepatomegaly, jaundice, hemoperitoneum[medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com] Hemoperitoneum in patients with ascites. • Tubal Pregnancy

We report a case of ruptured tubal pregnancy with massive life-threatening hemoperitoneum.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] There was no hemoperitoneum. The tube contained twin gestational sacs. The crown-rump length of the embryos was 2 cm.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Two patients with declining serum concentrations of beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (beta-hCG) and a ruptured tubal pregnancy with hemoperitoneum are described.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Massive Trauma

(TASH) score assesses 7 independent variables correlated to an increased probability of MT and with different relative impacts: SBP, hemoglobin (Hb), presence of intraabdominal[medintensiva.org] […] pelvic instability, age, admission from the scene of trauma, and mechanism of injury (traffic accident or fall from a height of over 3 m). • Splenic Rupture

Spontaneous hemoperitoneum in P. vivax malaria has been reported earlier but with splenic rupture. However our case though had hemoperitoneum but no splenic rupture.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Computed tomography showed a "whirl sign", a subcapsular splenic hematoma with suspected peripheral laceration, and diffuse hemoperitoneum.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] After both a physical and sonographical exam, it was revealed that it was due to a massive hemoperitoneum.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Hemoperitoneum

We report a case of a 30-year-old primiparous woman presented with sudden-onset intraabdominal hemorrhage at 34 weeks' gestation.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Sabatelle R, Winger E: Postpartum intraabdominal hemorrhage caused by ectopic deciduosis. • Splenic Injury

Data collected included demographics, vital signs, laboratory data, the presence of contrast blush, the hemoperitoneum score, hospital course, and outcome.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] In this case, a 71-year-old female presented one day after colonoscopy with splenic injury and hemoperitoneum as a complication of the recent colonoscopy.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] We evaluated severity according to the AAST classification, the presence of hemoperitoneum or a contrast blush on initial CT scan.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Hepatic Rupture

Under the signs of a hemorrhagic shock, distended abdomen and intraabdominal bleeding a laparotomy was performed.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] A 62-year-old man died from hemoperitoneum secondary to nontraumatic hepatic rupture.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] A 34-year-old multiparous woman without hypertension was admitted at 21 weeks' gestation because of a spontaneous hepatic rupture with hemoperitoneum.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
