414 Possible Causes for Lymphocytopenia, Thrombocytopenia

  • Pneumonia

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) was first reported in China in 2011.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Despite intensive work-up, we were unable to detect the underlying cause of CD4 lymphocytopenia; therefore, a final diagnosis of idiopathic CD4 T-lymphocytopenia was made.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Haematological tests revealed only thrombocytopenia, which was long standing, and her biochemical and inflammatory markers were normal.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Chronic Eosinophilic Leukemia

We report a case of chronic eosinophilic leukemia in a 9 year old girl who presented with anemia, thrombocytopenia, leucocytosis (mostly dysplastic eosinophils), lymphadenopathy[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The most common grade 3/4 hematologic laboratory abnormalities were lymphocytopenia (31.3 %) and neutropenia (25.0 %).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The FIP1L1-PDGFRalpha-associated patients diagnosed with CEL, frequently had hepatosplenomegaly, eosinophil-related tissue damage, anemia, thrombocytopenia, myelofibrosis[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Ganciclovir

Thrombocytopenia occurred in 41 of these patients (30.6%).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] We describe the case of a 16-month-old girl with neuroblastoma and chronic lymphocytopenia due to chemotherapy and treosulfan-containing megatherapy who developed cytomegalovirus[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] […] inflammation, AIDS, uveitis Introduction Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a fatal disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), characterized by lymphocytopenia[scielo.br]

  • Ehrlichiosis

[…] year-old boy who was referred to the Hematology-Oncology Clinic to consider a bone marrow etiologic process after his pediatrician discovered progressive neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] I report a case of tick-borne ehrlichiosis in which the primary presentation suggested an infectious diarrhea, with impressive leukopenia and thrombocytopenia.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Patients exhibit diagnostically important hematological changes, including anemia and thrombocytopenia, although the basis of the abnormalities is unknown.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Pancytopenia

[…] mm(3), and severe thrombocytopenia as thrombocyte counts below 20,000/mm(3).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Bovine Neonatal Pancytopenia (BNP), a fatal bleeding syndrome of neonatal calves, is caused by maternal alloantibodies absorbed from colostrum and is characterized by lymphocytopenia[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Anemia and thrombocytopenia, commonly as a result of the normal dilutional effect of increased plasma volume during pregnancy, are frequently seen in pregnant women but are[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Malaria

[…] describ the case of a young soldier who, after returning from Central Africa, presented a fever associated with petechial purpura and gingivorrhagia, hemogram showed deep thrombocytopenia[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Laboratory tests showed anaemia (haemoglobin 11.4 g/dl), severe thrombocytopaenia (platelets 30 10(9)/mm(3)), leukopenia (3650/mm(3)), lymphocytopenia (650/mm(3)).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Anemia, Leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia are commonly observed hematological abnormalities in malaria and typhoid patients.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Aplastic Anemia

After the initial appearance of AMI approximately 2 months earlier, he had received conservative treatment/transfusion alone because of severe thrombocytopenia and anemia[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] A 10-year-old Japanese boy developed acute hepatitis with high levels of serum Torque teno virus DNA and marked lymphocytopenia, especially CD4 T-lymphocytopenia.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Acquired amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenic purpura (AATP) is a rare hematological disorder characterized by severe thrombocytopenia and a complete or near-to complete absence[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Chlorambucil

Immune thrombocytopenia occurred in 55 of 777 (7.1%) patients.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The most common treatment-related adverse events (AEs) were thrombocytopenia (n 10), neutropenia (n 9) and rash (n 6).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] The most common adverse reactions ( 10%) reported in the GClb arm were infusion reactions, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, pyrexia, cough, and musculoskeletal disorders[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Temozolomide

One patient experienced grade I thrombocytopenia, one developed grade I leukopenia, and one experienced both grade I thrombocytopenia and grade I nausea, all which resolved[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Lymphocytopenia is reported to be the most frequent and severe adverse effect of TMZ and leads to opportunistic infections.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Temozolomide may cause thrombocytopenia or neutropenia in 3-4% of glioblastoma patients, respectively. However, pancytopenia is rarely reported.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Graft-versus-Host-Disease

[…] infusion (IAPI) in two pediatric patients with steroid and transfusion refractory gastrointestinal GVHD causing intractable lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage and refractory thrombocytopenia[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Furthermore, we detected that donor CD3CD56 Natural killer T(NKT)-like cells expanded gradually after the period of lymphocytopenia caused by GVHD and anti-cytokine therapy[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Common adverse events of this treatment in patients with cGVHD include fatigue, bruising, diarrhea, low levels of blood platelets (thrombocytopenia), muscle spasms, swelling[pharmacytimes.com]
