  • Posterior Uveitis

HD can occur in the eye and can mimic posterior uveitis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Final visual acuity was compromised by chronic macular edema, postinflammatory macular scarring, optic atrophy, subcapsular cataract formation, and capsular opacification[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Some degree of permanent ocular damage, such as macular scarring or atrophy, lamellar macular hole formation, optic atrophy, etc., was found in 54 of the 220 patients (24.5%[retinatoday.com]

  • Fuchs' Heterochromic Iridocyclitis

In other selected patients with uveitis, in-the-bag IOL implantation may be performed with an acceptable risk.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Lamellar macular hole, pre-existing macular scar, and pre-existing retinal detachment accounted for the poor visual result.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] A chorioretinal scar was present in 7 eyes (6.0%) of which 4 eyes had peripheral scars, 2 eyes had macular scars and in one eye it was located in the peripapillary region.[meajo.org]

  • Serpiginous Choroiditis

Anterior uveitis, a previously undescribed feature of this disease, was found in both patients.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] In this series 14 (56%) of 53 patients demonstrated either active choroidal neovascularization (13%) or disciform macular scarring (13%).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Ten eyes had improved visual acuities, while vision remained impaired in two due to macular scars.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Anterior Uveitis

Of note, other forms of uveitis are intermediate uveitis (pars planitis and cyclitis), posterior uveitis (choroiditis), and panuveitis (inflammation of all parts of the uvea[symptoma.com] If they do occur, they may include: Glaucoma Cataracts Macular edema Scar tissue Retinal detachment, or detached retina Vision loss Research is ongoing to find out who is[medicalnewstoday.com] Scarring on the retina.
