101 Possible Causes for Mononuclear Cell Infiltrates in the Dermis

  • Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris

Skin biopsy showed hyperkeratosis, parakeratosis, acanthosis and scattered mononuclear cell inflammatory infiltrates in the upper dermis.[indianpediatrics.net]

  • Hypersensitivity

The mononuclear cell infiltration in the dermis was studied and classified as follow: scattered ( /-), mild ( ), moderate ( ) and intense ( ).[doi.org]

  • Milium

There was also a mild infiltration of mononuclear inflammatory cells including lymphocytes, rare plasma cells, and mast cells, mostly around blood vessels of the superficial[escholarship.org] The cysts were surrounded by a mononuclear cell infiltrate (Figs. 2 A–C).[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] dermis (Figure 2).The amorphous deposits were crystal violet negative, PAS positive, and diastase resistant (Figures 3 and 4).[escholarship.org]

  • Perianal Warts

cell infiltration in papillary dermis (H and E, 40).[ijdvl.com] Histology of the forearm lesions revealed hyperkeratosis, papillomatosis, hypergranulosis, koilocytic changes in upper spinous layer and perivascular mononuclear cell infiltration[ijdvl.com] […] in papillary dermis [Figure 2] a.[ijdvl.com]

  • Chronic Cholecystitis

Histological presentation of mastocytosis (Giemsa staining x400): perivascular infiltrate of mononuclear cells with predominant mastocytes in papillary dermis; the cytoplasms[cyberleninka.org] An increased count of mast cells was not found. Fig. 4.[cyberleninka.org]

  • Lyme Disease

Histologic examination of skin biopsy specimens from each erythema migrans lesion showed a mononuclear cell infiltrate in the superficial and deep dermis; infiltrate included[doi.org] Histological analysis of these cases reveals the presence of vasculitis with infiltration by mononuclear cells and collagen deposition in the dermis.[doi.org] A) Immunohistochemical image with anti-CD20 antibody showing a nodule with a dense B-lymphocytes infiltrate in the dermis; magnification 100.[doi.org]

  • Lyme Neuroborreliosis

Histologic examination of skin biopsy specimens from each erythema migrans lesion showed a mononuclear cell infiltrate in the superficial and deep dermis; infiltrate included[doi.org] Histological analysis of these cases reveals the presence of vasculitis with infiltration by mononuclear cells and collagen deposition in the dermis.[doi.org] A) Immunohistochemical image with anti-CD20 antibody showing a nodule with a dense B-lymphocytes infiltrate in the dermis; magnification 100.[doi.org]

  • Myeloproliferative Disease

Skin biopsies were composed of striking angiocentric and intersititial mononuclear cell infiltrates, often accentuated in the deeper dermis and subcutaneous fat.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Cutaneous Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis

Histopathological findings of the purpura revealed perivascular infiltration of neutrophils, mononuclear cells, and nuclear debris, and extravasation of red cells mainly in[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] […] the upper dermis: all signs consistent with leukocytoclastic vasculitis.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

  • Syringocystadenoma papilliferum

The stroma contained a dense mononuclear cell infiltrate, which comprised predominantly of plasma cells. The sebaceous glands appeared to be normal.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] Some of these cells showed a decapitation secretion. The deep dermis showed few tubular glands with lumina.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] These invaginations showed many papillae which were lined by two rows of cuboidal to columnar epithelial cells, with oval nuclei and a pale eosinophilic cytoplasm.[ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
