10 Possible Causes for Peripheral T Cells Decreased, Raw Throat

  • Adenovirus Infection

Appearance of virus-specific CD4 T cells in peripheral blood and a rise of neutralizing antibody titres specific for the HAdV serotype infecting the patient could be demonstrated[] An increase of lymphocyte numbers was clearly associated with a decrease of the plasma DNA load.[]

  • Food Allergy

Reactions usually occur only when someone eats raw food. In rare cases, reactions can be life-threatening and need epinephrine.[] This causes low FOXP3 mRNA levels and markedly decreased protein expression in peripheral blood lymphocytes of affected patients.[] […] production of T cells.[]

  • Influenza

In contrast, IL-1R1 / mice showed a dramatic decrease in CD4 T-cell proliferation, suggesting that efficient T-helper cell priming in peripheral organs is dependent on a functional[] As expected, we found a strong antigen-specific proliferation of CD4 T cells from wild-type mice (Fig. 5 ).[]

  • Pemphigus

Blisters form in the throat as well. Blisters can form on the skin and rupture, leaving raw, painful, crusted wounds. The person feels generally ill.[] Immunologic Evaluations Peripheral-blood B- and T-lymphocyte subpopulations and T-lymphocyte cytokine production were analyzed longitudinally.[] Pemphigus vulgaris may cause severe blistering of the skin and the mucous membranes lining the mouth, nose, throat, eyes and genital area.[]

  • Septic Shock

The patient presented a remarkable cell activation profile and diminished percentage of peripheral blood T regulatory cells.[] A decrease in anti-inflammatory IL-1RA plasma level showed the potential for endothelium damage, probably contributing to a vasculitis process.[]

  • Chronic Thyroiditis

Areas of thyroid with active cells and colloid-poor follicles look like raw beef.[] Estrogen decreases the CD4 /CD8 T cell ratio and TNF-α cytotoxicity in T cells and increases immunoglobulin secretion, B cell survival, and polyclonal activation of B cells[] * "Globus hystericus" ("a lump in my throat") is often emotionally-based but be sure not to miss a goiter or thyroid nodule (J. Laryngol. Otol. 121 : 242, 2007).[]

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

[…] ratio, indicating a T H 2 shift. 50 When peripheral blood mononuclear cells from CFS patients are stimulated in culture, increased IL-4 levels accompany a high T H 2/T H 1[] A well-studied and characteristic finding is an attenuated T H 1 response. 47 – 49 Some adolescents with CFS exhibit increased levels of IL-10 and a decreased IFN-γ/IL-10[] […] ratio. 51 Studies revealing decreases in T H 1 and T H 17 inflammatory mediators may begin to provide links to the declining neurocognitive function and depressed psychosocial[]

  • Cytomegalovirus

A, CD8 T-cell counts in the peripheral blood of patients decrease following DI-TMZ cycle 1 from pheresis-1 to vaccine-1 ( P 0.020) and steadily increase with sequential vaccination[] Sequential pp65-DC vaccination expands peripheral CD8 T cells and CD8:Treg ratios but does not affect conventional CD4 counts or CD4:Treg ratios.[] C, Conventional CD4 T-cell counts in the peripheral blood of patients dramatically diminish following DI-TMZ cycle 1 ( P 0.037) and do not increase following sequential pp65[]

  • Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome

Monoclonal antibody analysis of peripheral-blood T-cell subsets revealed a marked decrease of the T-helper cell subset with inversion of the normal ratio of T-helper to T-suppressor[] Immunologic studies at CDC on specimens from the 11 patients tested showed severe T-cell dysfunction.[]

  • Chronic Infection

Symptoms include a raw or tickling sensation in the back of the throat and there may be difficulty swallowing. Sometimes these symptoms are accompanied by a fever.[] A recent study showed that patients with CAEBV or infectious mononucleosis have a decrease in the TCR-beta repertoire and expanded T cell clones in their peripheral blood[] Pharyngitis - Pharyngitis describes an inflammation of the throat (sore throat).[]
