12 Possible Causes for ST Elevation, Tachycardia during Pain Episodes

  • Variant Angina Pectoris

Ventricular premature beats, ventricular tachycardia and one episode of ventricular fibrillation were recorded.[] The mean daily number of ST elevation in group 1 was similar to that in group 2 (4.8 /- 5.1 vs 4.1 /- 4.6; p not significant).[] All had attacks of chest pain associated with ST elevation on electrocardiograms. Twenty-one subjects without ischemic heart disease were studied as control subjects.[]

  • Coronary Artery Disease

Transient ST-segment depression and chest pain detected during ambulatory monitoring were usually associated with tachycardia ( Figure 3 ).[] Although most will recognise the typical ECG features of ST elevation myocardial infarction, the significance of ST elevation in lead aVR may not always be appreciated.[] Ten days after discharge, the patient suffered another non-ST elevation myocardial infarction.[]

  • Holiday Heart Syndrome

During an episode, you may experience symptoms such as: a pounding or fluttering heartbeat ( heart palpitations ) feeling light-headed or dizzy shortness of breath chest pain[] , Choose the correct items: (there are 2 correct answers) This patient is stable and can safely be transported by the BLS crew alone This patient's ekg shows significant ST[] This rapid heart rate is called supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) .[]

  • Ventricular Tachycardia

If your heart rate during a ventricular tachycardia episode is extremely rapid or continues for several seconds, you may experience some or all of these symptoms.[] Since symptoms had continued, 24-hour Holter monitoring was ordered at our facility and results revealed huge ST elevation and polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.[] Brugada syndrome manifests as slightly delayed depolarization (rSr ) typically on ECG leads V1-V3 and ST elevation on those leads as well.[]

  • Fibromyalgia

New symptoms during this FQ course included convulsions, gastroenterological (severe acid reflux, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, appetite loss, presumed gastroparesis),[] Paul St. Amand, Theodore G. Krontiris, John E. Shively and Steve S.[] […] with fibromyalgia syndrome and correlate with elevated IL-1beta plasma levels.[]

  • Cardiac Asthma

During the acute episode, the patient may experience chest pain, usually caused by myocardial ischemia.[] elevated myocardial infarction) in 40, CAP in 38, anemia in 20, and associated PE in 11.[] Tachycardia diminishes the duration of the diastole and subsequently coronary filling time, also causing chest pain.[]

  • Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia

Abstract During episodes of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT), electrocardiograms frequently show ST-segment depressions, and patients may experience typical[] ) adult patients who are comatose after OHCA of suspected cardiac origin but without ST elevation on ECG (Class IIa, LOE B-NR).updated for 20152015Cardiovascular CareCoronary[] The sister, a 24-year-old woman, had intermittent episodes of palpitation accompanied by chest pain for 2 years.[]

  • Bradyarrhythmia

Other symptoms experienced during an episode of SVT include dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain, and light-headedness.[] Of particular importance are treatment of hypoxemia and hypotension, early diagnosis and treatment of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) (Class I, LOE B) and therapeutic[] Supraventricular tachycardias are generally not life-threatening, but their symptoms can be dehabilitating to patients.[]

  • Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome

A child old enough to express himself may complain of chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, lethargy and difficulty in breathing during episodes of tachycardia.[] Abstract We report a case of ST elevation in right precordial leads compatible with type 1 Brugada syndrome following administration of propafenone in a patient with Wolff-Parkinson-White[] […] or irregularly) Shortness of breath A physical exam done during a tachycardia episode will show a heart rate faster than 100 beats per minute.[]

  • Lown-Ganong-Levine Syndrome

In cases of underlying structural heart disease or coronary artery disease, episodes of tachycardia may induce cardiac stress and produce symptoms of chest pain or possibly[] ( Osborn wave, ST elevation, ST depression ) Cardiomegaly Ventricular hypertrophy ( Left, Right / Cor pulmonale ) · Atrial enlargement ( Left, Right ) Other Cardiac fibrosis[] Physical Findings are normal except during tachycardic episodes; cardiovascular examination may then reveal a rapid heart rate.[]
