Atrial Septal Aneurysm and atrial fibrillation

I have lone atrial fibrillation (diagnosed about 3 years) and was just informed that I also have a ASA and that I shouldnt worry. Apparently there is no connection or known connection between the ASA and the atrial fibrillation. I have yet to find a logical explanation for my lone atrial fibrillation and was wondering if the ASA has at all caused it. I dont know if an ASA also means that I had this since birth.

Some studies show that atrial fibrillation is more common in patients with ASA than in the general population. The exact cause of ASA, whether it is inborn or acquired, is not known to date.
