Presentation
Case presentation This report presents a case of angiolipoma that developed in the right bronchus intermedius of a 68-year-old man. [bmcsurg.biomedcentral.com]
In January of 2018, he underwent right knee arthroscopy, about 4 months after his initial presentation. [clinmedjournals.org]
In the present case, VEGF-A and -B, which are known to stimulate the formation of blood vessels in tumors, were expressed. [spandidos-publications.com]
We present two cases of SEAL which we successfully surgical resected with no further neurological deficits. Case presentation Case 1 We present a case of 39-year-old woman with 6-month history of numbness at the low extremities. [jss.amegroups.com]

- Soft Tissue Mass
In Figure 7, Figure 8 and Figure 9, small blood vessels were present within the soft tissue mass, identified by their smooth muscle walls. [clinmedjournals.org]
As the tumor was unencapsulated, the normal tissue surrounding the tumor was extirpated. The excised specimen revealed a solid soft-tissue mass (20×19×10 mm) with a dark yellow surface (Fig. 2). [spandidos-publications.com]
Physicians and orthopedic/general surgeons should be aware of the possibility of soft tissue masses in a posttrauma situation. 1. [hindawi.com]
- Inflammation
The second theory based on studies with encapsulated lipomas without lesions in Scarpa’s fascia [19–21] suggests that the induction of the differentiation of mesenchymal precursors (preadipocytes) to mature adipocytes and the effect of local/systemic inflammation [hindawi.com]
Respiratoric
- Cough
Due to the indolent nature of this neoplasm, symptoms of bronchial obstruction, such as coughing, wheezing, dyspnea, sputum production, hemoptysis, atelectasis, and pneumonia, may be observed in these patients. [bmcsurg.biomedcentral.com]
Cardiovascular
- Hypertension
Past medical history included arterial hypertension. In addition, he was a social drinker and a nonsmoker. Physical examination revealed a large, palpable, and painless soft solid mass on the upper half of the right forearm (Figure 1). [hindawi.com]

- Prolapse
The first “mechanical effect” of trauma theory [17, 18], suggests that acute or repeated trauma leads to a prolapse of adipose tissue through Scarpa’s fascia forming a pseudolipoma (not a true lipoma because it is not encapsulated). [hindawi.com]
Skin
- Subcutaneous Nodule
It occurs more frequently in younger individuals as a painful subcutaneous nodule, often on the arms. [ NCIT : P378 ] Synonyms: angiolipoma angiolipoma, benign [ebi.ac.uk]

Angiolipoma accounts for 5–17% of all lipomas and predominantly presents as subcutaneous nodules in young adults, which are tender or painful on palpation, particularly during the initial growth period. [spandidos-publications.com]
Clinically, the encapsulated/noninfiltrative angiolipoma presents as a subcutaneous nodule: the lesions are commonly multiple, typically firm, tender to palpation but often painful, and rarely associated with overlying skin changes [2, 5, 9, 10]. [hindawi.com]
- Subcutaneous Mass
These subcutaneous masses can occur anywhere on the body but are most often found on the neck, trunk, and extremities, with up to two-thirds occurring on the forearm. [clinmedjournals.org]
Neck ultrasound (US) examination, conducted in August 2006 and May 2007, revealed a well-defined solid hypo-echogenic subcutaneous mass located in the right mandibular angle, 0.93 × 2.52 cm in size. [mdpi.com]

Treatment
Treatment and prognosis Treatment is predominantly surgical, although infiltrating tumors are difficult to completely excise 1 and, as mentioned above, tend to recur locally. 2 angiomyolipoma Promoted articles (advertising) [radiopaedia.org]
A combine treatment with surgery and radiotherapy has also been used by Gonzalez-Crussi et al. with success (10,16). [jss.amegroups.com]
Management and Treatment How are angiolipomas treated? Angiolipomas don’t go away on their own. However, unless an angiolipoma causes pain or discomfort, you don’t have to treat it. [my.clevelandclinic.org]
Treatment of angiolipoma Surgery is curative, but not essential as these lesions are benign. Angiolipomas tend to be well-circumscribed and easily removed. [dermnetnz.org]
The “Gold standard” treatment is excision with clear margins and bleeding management should be taken into account according to appropriate differential diagnosis. [mdpi.com]

Outlook / Prognosis What can I expect if I have angiolipomas? With proper diagnosis and treatment, the outlook for people with angiolipomas is good. [my.clevelandclinic.org]
Infiltrating angiolipoma has a recurrence rate of 50%, however a good prognosis can be expected with radiotherapy and additional excision. On the other hand, non-infiltrating angiolipoma shows no tendency to recurrence [2, 12, 13]. [surgicalcasereports.springeropen.com]
The overall prognosis for angiolipoma is good, as no malignant potential transformation has been reported [20,21]. [mdpi.com]
Etiology
Although several single cases as well as case series have been document, the etiology and pathogenesis of SEALs are still not well exploited and for that matter not well understood. [jss.amegroups.com]

The etiology of angiolipoma is a matter of debate, though post-pubertal hormonal influence and repetitive microtrauma have been theorized to play a role in its origin [1,2]. [clinmedjournals.org]
The pathogenesis of angiolipomas is still unclear, but acute or recurrent trauma has been suggested as a possible etiologic factor [1, 4, 5]. [hindawi.com]
