Presentation
In cases of oculomandibulodyscephaly there are no permanent teeth but there are deciduous teeth present. In mesoectodermal dysplasia the symptoms are anodontia and hypodontia. In cases of ectodermal dysplasia oligodontia is also present. [en.wikipedia.org]
The case of a 5-year-old child with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia and complete anodontia is presented. Because of the anodontia and the need for treatment at an early age, the prosthetic management of such a young child can be difficult. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Entire Body System
-
Intermittent Fever
The parents also gave a history of intermittent fever throughout infancy and childhood. There was no family history of missing teeth. The boy was moderately built and well nourished. His skin was extremely dry and he hardly had any body hair. [internalmedicine.imedpub.com]

Prognathism
Treatment was more complex due to an underdeveloped maxilla and a prognathic mandible. [nyuscholars.nyu.edu]
Ears

Low Set Ears
His facial features were common of an ED sufferer such as periorbital pigmentation, frontal bossing, a depressed nasal bridge, protuberant lips, low-set ears, and scanty scalp hair.2,6 Nails were not very brittle and an intra-oral examination exposed [internalmedicine.imedpub.com]
Skin

Blonde Hair
The child had sparse, fine, blond hair, especially at the temple area and eyebrows. The lower facial height decreased due to an over closed profile, making the lips appear prominent. Examination of nails revealed no abnormality. [contempclindent.org]

Treatment
Treatment [ edit ] Prosthetic replacement of missing teeth is possible using dental implant technology or dentures. [4] This treatment can be successful in giving patients with anodontia a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. [en.wikipedia.org]
Implant and prosthodontic treatment were associated with positive effects on satisfaction, treatment experience and mandibular function impairment (n 13 patients, one study). [crd.york.ac.uk]

Prognosis
The long-term prognosis, however, shows that modifying the intraoral static relationship and function will change a patient’s overall physical appearance. [rezottoproduction.com]

Timely diagnosis and selection of treatment modality with best possible prognosis can save these patients from social embarrassment in day-to-day life along with functional rehabilitation. [j-ips.org]
Implantology concluded that implants should be placed after maximum jaw growth has occurred (15 years of age).[ 13 ] Cronin, et al .[ 11 ] concluded that implants placed after age 15 years for girls and 18 years for boys provided the most predictable prognosis [amhsr.org]
Etiology
Abstract The relationship between maxillary lateral incisor anodontia and the palatal displacement of unerupted maxillary canines cannot be considered as a multiple tooth abnormality with defined genetic etiology in order to be regarded as a "syndrome [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Certain conditions have both an underlying etiology and multiple body system manifestations due to the underlying etiology. [icd10coded.com]

Numerous epidemiological studies (11) of hypodontia have shown the distributions of hypodontia in an adolescent sample of American blacks with a comparable sample of whites. [jcdr.net]

The relationship between partial anodontia and dental position changes only based on clinical and epidemiological findings may be explained as follows, based on the polygenic system: altering the gene responsible for number may alter the adjacent gene [scielo.br]
