Presentation
Their diagnosis requires a high index of suspicion because of the variability of presentation. We present our experience with four cases of male urethral polyps in boys with discussion on the related literature. [afrjpaedsurg.org]
Case presentation: We present an additional, fourth case of an AVM of the ureter, clinically presented as asymptomatic haematuria and an obstructive process in the left ureter. [docksci.com]
Most presented with hematuria and/or flank pain (68%). Most polyps were located in the upper ureter or renal pelvis (87%). Posterior urethral and bladder polyps were present in children. Most polyps were single or bilobed (73%) and 1–6 cm. [typeset.io]
Features a downloadable Online Image Collection that you can use to enhance your presentations. Presents two brand-new chapters covering urinary cytology and fine needle aspiration to keep you up to date. [books.google.ro]

Lichen Sclerosis (LS) or Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans (BXO) LS and BXO are treated with agents that kill bacteria and reduce swelling. Circumcision may be needed. If scars block the urethra, more reconstructive surgery may be needed. [urologyhealth.org]

If the flow of urine is obstructed, urine backs up behind the point of blockage, eventually reaching the small tubes of the kidney and its collecting area (renal pelvis), swelling (distending) the kidney and increasing the pressure on its internal structures [merckmanuals.com]

When large, symptoms can include vaginal discharge or bleeding, dyspareunia, or urinary retention. [glowm.com]
Workup
The workup is directed at exclusion of malignancy. 90% of bladder carcinomas are transitional cell carcinoma (TCC), 75% of which are papillary, 25% are infiltrative. [med-ed.virginia.edu]
Although the amount of blood in the urine may be different, the types of conditions that can cause the problem are the same, and require the same kind of workup or evaluation. [medicinenet.com]

Consideration of a primary malignancy is largely directed by known history and epidemiologic risk factors. In young adult men with periureteral or perirenal lymphadenopathy, a primary testicular malignancy (seminoma in particular) must be excluded. [radiologykey.com]
Pathophysiology
The underlying pathophysiology is thought to involve hyperplastic metaplastic changes secondary to chronic irritation, particularly within the ureter. Hematuria (80%), dysuria and frequency are more commonly reported symptoms in ureteral tumors. [ispub.com]
Prevention
It helps to prevent the tumor from coming back and helps prevent development of muscle invasive disease. About 6 weeks after completing the BCG, the doctor will do a cystoscopy again to make sure all of the cancer is gone. [urology.wustl.edu]
