Presentation
We present the case a 14-year-old girl who presented with respiratory failure secondary to DAH as the initial presenting sign of GPA. Her clinical course improved after initiation of plasmapheresis therapy and she is now in clinical remission. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Hematological
- Hemophilia A
In rare cases, it is caused by hemophilia. A 48-year-old man was admitted to our hospital for a third time due to DAH. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

- Anemia
It is defined by the clinical triad of hemoptysis, anemia and progressive hypoxemia. Chest radiographs reveal non-specific patchy or diffuse bilateral pulmonary consolidation. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
- Sepsis
Deaths were due to multiorgan failure, sepsis, and progressive underlying disease. No overt, clinically obvious adverse thrombotic events were observed with the use of rFVIIa. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

Cardiovascular
- Cyanosis
Pulmonary aspiration can present symptoms of wheezing, coughing, dyspnea, cyanosis, pulmonary edema, hypotension, and hypoxemia, which may progress rapidly to severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). [kjccm.org]
When evident clinically, the condition is usually massive. [1] The onset of pulmonary hemorrhage is characterized by cough productive of blood (hemoptysis) and worsening of oxygenation leading to cyanosis. [1] Treatment should be immediate and should [en.wikipedia.org]

- Renal Injury
In SLE patients with diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (DAH) and acute renal failure (ARF), the most common associated renal injury is proliferative lupus nephritis. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Careful monitoring of complete blood counts and renal function should be performed. Appropriate dose adjustments should be made if there is evidence of neutropenia or renal injury. Rituximab is an anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody that targets B-cells. [rheumatologyadvisor.com]
Workup
Pulmonary infections are rarely reported in association with DAH, but they should be considered in the diagnostic workup because of the obvious therapeutic implications. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Infectious workup, which included bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage and respiratory viral studies, was completely negative in all 3 patients. [bloodjournal.org]
Patients with midface fractures as they try to preserve the barrier is relatively high failure rate.6 the lma-ps showed that 87% of fetuses will present in the workup of most patients will complain of diplopia, ophthalmology consultation is warranted [miketnelson.com]

Treatment
For AAV, treatment includes induction followed by maintenance therapy. Rituximab has an increasing role in the treatment of AAV. Copyright © 2012 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
