Presentation
Herein, we discuss the patient’s clinical presentation and the cardiotocography changes observed in leptospiral infection, and review the current literature. [doi.org]

Prognosis
Prognosis The vast majority of leptospiral infections are self-limiting. However, Weil's disease has a mortality rate of 5-10%. [patient.info]
Flooding on a smaller scale may also lead to individuals contracting the disease. [10] In 90% of cases, leptospirosis manifests as an acute febrile illness with a biphasic course and an excellent prognosis. [emedicine.com]
Etiology
Etiologic Agent Leptospires are long, thin, motile spirochetes. They may be free-living or associated with animal hosts and survive well in fresh water, soil, and mud in tropical areas. [web.archive.org]
