Workup
On further workup, it was found that urinary calcium creatinine ratio was 0.92 (normal 200 nmol/L). Thyroid function test was normal and serum Vitamin A or retinol was 37 μg/dL (normal reference interval 38-106). [ssajm.org]
Treatment
The treatment improved serum calcium, kidney function, and consciousness. The medical history disclosed recent treatment with exceptionally high doses of slow-release intra-muscular cholecalciferol and the recent excretion of urinary stones. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

Prognosis
Prognosis Mortality is rare. Once identified, the prognosis is good. The yellow coloration of skin will reverse with time. [patient.info]
Outlook (Prognosis) Recovery is expected. [indiatoday.in]
The prognosis upon adequate treatment is excellent Those with severe signs and symptoms of Hypervitaminosis D may require hospitalization with extended treatment. [dovemed.com]
Outlook (Prognosis) Recovery is expected, but permanent kidney damage can occur. [huronregional.org]
Etiology
Lapis ISSN 2398-2969 Synonym(s): Vitamin D toxicity Contributor(s): Sarah Pellett, Lesa Thompson Introduction Pathogenesis Etiology Incorrectly formulated diets. Overzealous supplementation with oral or injectable preparations. [vetstream.com]
(Etiology) The body requires a specific amount of vitamin D each day. The liver stores vitamin D, which then gets transported to various parts of the body by a specific carrier protein, termed as the vitamin D-binding protein. [dovemed.com]

Epidemiology
Recent epidemiologic evidence suggests that there is a narrow range of vitamin D levels in which vascular function is optimized. [ipfs.io]

Confounding is always a potential explanation for associations reported in observational epidemiologic studies. [doi.org]
There is no evidence from epidemiological studies that use of the above dose of vitamin D, or any of its analogues, during pregnancy is associated with an increased risk of congenital malformation, however data are limited. [medicinesinpregnancy.org]

Prevention
To prevent this condition, pay careful attention to the correct vitamin D dose. [indiatoday.in]
Discussion : Vitamin D plays an essential role in calcium homeostasis and the development and maintenance of the skeleton, is recommended for the prevention of rickets, optimization of peak bone mass, and prevention of bone loss, In addition, vitamin [ijn.mums.ac.ir]
