Abstract We present the case of a 47-year-old man who presented with asymptomatic ischemic cardiomyopathy. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
We present a patient with a calcified congenital ventricular aneurysm who presented with supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias and who was treated by surgical resection. [revespcardiol.org]
Entire Body System
- Asymptomatic
The patient underwent successful surgical repair and is now asymptomatic. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Severity of the defect is variable with some cases being asymptomatic and in other heart failure occurs during the fetal stage. [checkorphan.org]
- Congestive Heart Failure
Surgical resection should be considered for LVFA occurring within three months after myocardial infarction or development of congestive heart failure. [perfusion.com]
Methods and Results In a clinicopathologic study of 7 new cases, the major presenting features in 6 patients were congestive heart failure in 4, ventricular arrhythmias in a 32-week fetus, and multiple congenital anomalies in a fetus with trisomy 13. [scienceopen.com]
heart failure Arrhythmias Peripheral embolization Usually are either true or false aneurysms True ventricular aneurysms Localized outpouching of ventricular cavity Associated with dyskinesia Wide-mouthed in connection with the LV Anterolateral or apical [learningradiology.com]
While he had recovered well from surgery he suffered from progressive congestive heart failure (NYHA III) during the past year. He was admitted to our institution for evaluation for heart transplantation. [thieme-connect.com]
Heart failure: The portion of the heart that contains the aneurysm is not contractile and is frequently “dyskinetic”. This results in overall decrease in heart function and the development of congestive heart failure. 2. [healio.com]

There is a surgical procedure during which the surgeon resects the aneurysm and uses a Dacron patch. This is called the “Dor procedure” or the EVCPP (endoventricular circular patch plasty). [healio.com]
These patients have little cardiac reserve, and the surgical procedure is associated with high morbidity and mortality. [clinicalpainadvisor.com]
Respiratoric
- Dyspnea
Abstract A 40-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with dyspnea and atypical chest pain. Left ventricle (LV) apico-lateral wall aneurysm and right coronary artery aneurysm were found. We could find no etiological reason for this condition. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
In February 2010 she reconsidered the ICD as she represented with severe dyspnea. Her presenting ECG demonstrated a sinus tachycardia of 120 bpm and a wide QRS consistent was a left bundle branch block. [scmr.org]
A 67-year-old woman with a history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia presented with mild exertional dyspnea of several-month’s duration. [circ.ahajournals.org]
Two months later, the patient was admitted again, this time with class IV NYHA symptoms: dyspnea at rest, ortopnea, paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea. [tmj.ro]
Otherwise patients can present with chest pain, dyspnea and hypotension [ 3 ]. [cardiothoracicsurgery.biomedcentral.com]
Gastrointestinal
- Regurgitation
She had severe mitral regurgitation and aneurysmal thrombus. The diagnosis was easily made using GE Vivid E9 transthoracic echocardiography. She was given drugs for management of heart failure and anticoagulation. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Early follow up showed severe mitral regurgitation in one case and residual aneurysm cavity in one case. One case in which annuloplasty ring was used had no mitral regurgitation or residual aneurysm cavity. [link.springer.com]
Cardiovascular
- Heart Failure
In April 2017, a 25-year-old patient havingsubmitral left ventricular aneurysm with New York Heart Association (NYHA) class IV heart failure and mild left ventricular systolic dysfunctionreceived medical treatment at our institution. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Her interests are in the pathophysiology of heart failure. [books.google.com]

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) leads to structural heart disease, including dilated cardiomyopathy, in 90% of patients >18 years of age. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

Though LVA occasionally occurs in congenital, infective, connective tissue and traumatic heart disease, myocardial infarction remains the most frequent cause. [slideshare.net]
A case of a 74 year-old male with a history of ischemic heart disease secondary to myocardial infarction with ST-segment elevation who developed a giant left ventricular apical aneurysm is presented. [go.gale.com]
- Tachycardia
Evaluation revealed a rapid pulse rate; an electrocardiogram showed a wide QRS complex tachycardia with right bundle branch block morphology, compatible with ventricular tachycardia ( Figure 1 ). [em-consulte.com]
On Holter ECG monitoring frequent PVC (26,333 beats/day; 24.7% of the total heart rate) and non-sustained ventricular tachycardia (NSVT) were noted ( Figure 1B ). [jstage.jst.go.jp]
We report a case of a 62-year-old Chinese man with typical triple-vessel lesions and apical left ventricular aneurysm accompanied with ventricular tachycardia. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
- Hypotension
Typical indications for MRI are unexpected hypotension; heart failure of unexpected severity; a new murmur; or poor windows for echocardiography. [emedicine.medscape.com]
Otherwise patients can present with chest pain, dyspnea and hypotension [ 3 ]. [cardiothoracicsurgery.biomedcentral.com]
- Thrombosis
It is helpful for estimating the size and location of the aneurysm, as well as the presence of thrombosis in the wall of the aneurysm. [wikidoc.org]
The stasis of blood in the aneurysm predisposes to mural thrombosis. [library.med.utah.edu]
Nearby where the cavity is created, it is important in the evaluation of MR regurgitation but not in distinguishing true aneurysm from pseudo-aneurysm, especially in the case of thrombosis. [cardiothoracicsurgery.biomedcentral.com]
Workup
The workup of the fetus at 26 weeks' gestation led to the identification of a left ventricle aneurysm. Initially, the value of ICT of the left ventricle indicated adequate cardiac function. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Treatment
Treatment should be individually tailored depending on clinical severity, and treatment options are limited. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Many left ventricular aneurysms are small and don’t need treatment. Treatment for large aneurysms may include medicines or surgery. Take care of your health. [eheandme.com]
This patient's condition improved after treatment with diuresis and inotropic therapy, and he was discharged home. [nejm.org]
If you have severe symptoms that are not helped by these treatments, you may need surgery to remove the aneurysm. How can I take care of myself? Follow the full course of treatment prescribed by your healthcare provider. Take care of your health. [hhma.org]
Prognosis
Given that this combination of congenital LV aneurysm and LVNC is significantly associated with poor prognosis, it appears that patients with congenital LV aneurysm and LVNC are candidates for early, aggressive intervention, including surgical aneurysmectomy [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
In our case, LVA/LV ratio was >1 throughout the pregnancy that suggested poor prognosis ( Figure 2a ). With the relative enlargement of aneurysm, we expected poor prognosis of this fetus. [nature.com]

Prevention
How can a ventricular aneurysm be prevented? Some aneurysms may be prevented if a heart attack is treated very soon after it starts. Developed by RelayHealth. Published by RelayHealth. [summitmedicalgroup.com]
Once diagnosis was made by chest X-ray, echocardiography and computed tomography, an open heart surgery was necessary to prevent complications. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
