Presentation
Here we briefly review the literature on adult rhabdomyosarcoma and present the case of a 39-year-old man clinical presentation of dyspnea, chest pain and weight loss, with initial approach with imaging… Figures from this paper One Citation References [semanticscholar.org]
We present a case of cardiac rhabdomyosarcoma, which was incorrectly presented as a mediastinal tumor by computed tomography (CT). [eusjournal.com]
The present case demonstrated that even in a patient with diffuse and huge metastatic GCT at presentation, long-term survival may be achieved by adequate chemotherapy followed by local surgical treatment. Received October 19, 2010. [ar.iiarjournals.org]
TL;DR: A 21-year-old white female presented with a 9-month history of progressively worsening vague chest pressure and discomfort, dyspnea, anorexia, and a 20-lb weight loss, and was diagnosed with a primary anterior mediastinal rhabdomyosarcoma, anatomically [typeset.io]

Treatment
Rodeberg Medicine Seminars in pediatric surgery 2012 The surgeon plays a vital role in RMS by contributing to risk stratification for treatment, local control of the primary tumor, and outcome; the current state-of-the-art treatment is determined by treatment [semanticscholar.org]

In addition, a histological diagnosis via EUS-FNA without need for surgery allows the patient to benefit from a fast and optimal medical treatment. References 1. Villacampa VM, Villarreal M, Ros LH, et al. [eusjournal.com]
Prognosis
Rhabdomyosarcoma in adults is a heterogeneous disease, with different form of presentation, histology, and prognosis and with difficulty in its treatment due to the rarity of the disease. [semanticscholar.org]
In addition, patients with mediastinal rhabdomyosarcoma usually have poor prognosis and die due to regional and distant metastases (1, 3, 5-8). [ar.iiarjournals.org]
Treatment and prognosis Up to 20% of patients with rhabdomyosarcomas have metastases at the time of diagnosis 7. These are typical to lung and bone marrow. [radiopaedia.org]
The prognosis is related to the size and depth of the lesion, with superficial or chest wall lesions having a better prognosis than lesions within the lung or mediastinum. [pubs.rsna.org]
Around 20% of RMS is alveolar type, and is associated with poorer prognosis. Treatment of RMS varies widely according to histology, site and age of the patient. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Prevention
EUS-FNA of heart tumors is possible without any complication and can prevent the morbidity and mortality of a diagnostic thoracotomy.[2] Conclusion An unusual indication of EUS resulted in a more precise diagnosis than CT scan that indicates the presence [eusjournal.com]
Treatment is usually with resection and radiation therapy for local control, supplemented by chemotherapy for prevention of recurrence and treatment of micrometastatic disease. [pubs.rsna.org]
