TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention generally relates to the management and disposal of hazardous materials. [patents.justia.com]
If the packaging groups are chosen to correspond to the classification categories presented in this report, then the maximum allowable leak rates used to define these categories could be used as the maximum allowable leak rates for the performance oriented [osti.gov]
Abstract Three cases of pentaborane intoxication resulting from a common exposure are presented. [pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
The radiographic findings, not fully described in the case report published elsewhere (4), and their correlation with the postmortem findings are presented in this communication. [pubs.rsna.org]
Entire Body System
- Weakness
The signs and symptoms of TEDP poisoning by any route may progress to giddiness, slurred speech, incoordination, muscle weakness, convulsions, loss of reflexes, coma, respiratory paralysis, and death. [ruf.rice.edu]
Dizziness, weakness, CNS depression and excitation, hallucinations, and incoordination have been seen. Mental deficits have been produced by acute exposures. [microkat.gr]
- Anorexia
Hypersalivation amd anorexia may occur. Inhalation Tightness in the chest, dyspnea, cough and wheezing for 3 to 5 days after exposure to boron hydrides. [microkat.gr]
After ingestion, effects are primarily gastrointestinal and include nausea, anorexia, vomiting, cramps, and diarrhea. Skin absorption of TEDP leads to localized sweating and muscular twitching in the affected area. [ruf.rice.edu]
- Unconsciousness
Signs and Symptoms of Exposure: Shortness of breath, headache, nausea and vomiting, altered behavior, unconsciousness, muscle contraction. 2195 Tellurium hexafluoride 7.6 km (4.7 mi) MEDICAL EFFECTS: Tellurium hexafluoride is a severe irritant of the [ruf.rice.edu]
Gastrointestinal
- Nausea
Inhalation may cause headache, delirium, nausea, vomiting, general malaise, tightness in the chest and pain in the abdomen or loins. Arsine does not have adequate warning properties to avoid overexposure. [ruf.rice.edu]
Ingestion Nausea is one of the first symptoms seen. Hypersalivation amd anorexia may occur. Inhalation Tightness in the chest, dyspnea, cough and wheezing for 3 to 5 days after exposure to boron hydrides. [microkat.gr]
First Aid Signs and Symptoms of Pentaborane Exposure: Inhalation of low concentrations of pentaborane causes behavioral changes, loss of recent memory, poor judgement, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, and difficulty in focusing. [cameochemicals.noaa.gov]
Skin
- Skin Rash
It affects the upper respiratory tract, skin, and eyes and causes severe respiratory damage as well as burns to the skin and eyes. [ruf.rice.edu]
Musculoskeletal
- Muscle Cramp
cramps, convulsions, the arch anti - Kok Cheung, disturbance of consciousness or mental disorder. [chemyq.com]
Neurologic
- Headache
Inhalation may cause headache, delirium, nausea, vomiting, general malaise, tightness in the chest and pain in the abdomen or loins. Arsine does not have adequate warning properties to avoid overexposure. [ruf.rice.edu]
The impact on the environment : a health hazard pathways : inhaled, ingested, percutaneous absorption. health hazards : Acute poisoning : neurological symptoms, mainly headache, dizziness, sleepiness, ophthalmoplegia, skin hypersensitivity, followed by [chemyq.com]
Eyes Headaches have been reported following exposure to pentaborane or decaborane. Borohydrides have also caused irreversible eye damage. First aid Ingestion Do not induce emesis. [microkat.gr]
Inhalation of higher concentrations may cause headache, dizziness, nervous excitation, muscular pain, loss of muscle coordination, cramps, muscle spasms, tremors, convulsions, coma, and death due to central nervous system poisoning. [cameochemicals.noaa.gov]
- Seizure
These cases were characterized by the rapid onset of seizures and opisthotonic spasms accompanied by severe metabolic acidosis without respiratory compensation. [pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Tremors leading to seizures and severe brain injury have been seen in high dose pentaborane intoxication. No data were available to assess the potential effects of exposure to this agent during pregnancy or lactation. [microkat.gr]
Warning: Ingestion of pentaborane may result in sudden onset of seizures or loss of consciousness. Syrup of Ipecac should be administered only if victims are alert, have an active gag-reflex, and show no signs of impending seizure or coma. [cameochemicals.noaa.gov]

Treatment
Medical treatment. Fresh into : warm water to drink enough, the symptoms and to seek medical treatment. fire fighting methods : fire-extinguishing agent : Dry, dry sand, carbon dioxide. Ban water or foam. [chemyq.com]

Flushed rinse water and residual rinse water are captured in a holding tank for subsequent treatment or reuse on the next cylinder. Whether such water is to be considered available for subsequent treatment is determined by analytical testing. [patents.justia.com]
