Presentation
It clinically presents as a solitary slow-growing nodule, sometimes associated with prior trauma. Since 01/01/2000, our institution has received 5 cases in consultation of sclerosing perineurioma presenting in atypical locations. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

Soft Tissue Mass
Herein, we present a rare case of a young adult male who presented with a soft tissue mass in his right thigh that was excised elsewhere and submitted to us for histopathological review. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Pathological findings: As per referring laboratory notes, the thigh mass measured 20x9x5 cm, with a tumor measuring 8 7 4.5 cm; the leg soft tissue mass measured 10 8 6.6. cm, including tumor measuring 8 7 4 cm and the excised axillary soft tissue mass [cancerjournal.net]
Radiologic Findings A contrast-enhanced CT study showed a very well-defined, lobulated, heterogeneously enhancing soft tissue mass centered in the posterior nasal cavity, extending through the choanae into the nasopharynx. [ajnr.org]

Soft Tissue Swelling
Herein, this tumor is presented within a rare clinical setting, in a 45-year-old gentleman, with multiple soft tissue swellings and a previous history of surgical excision of a thigh mass. [cancerjournal.net]
Results of an x-ray of the right hand revealed soft tissue swelling over the second phalanx with no periosteal reaction. Results of a biopsy revealed a poorly marginated storiform spindle cell neoplasm involving the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. [mdedge.com]

Plethora
Electron microscopy permitted direct visualization of a plethora of lysosomes in the granular cell moiety, and of pinocytotic vesicles and tight junctions in perineurial cells. Intratumoral axons were not detected. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

Recurrent Sinusitis
Antrochoanal polyps usually display thin peripheral enhancement and coexisting evidence of recurrent sinusitis. Solitary fibrous tumors of the head and neck most commonly occur in the oral cavity. [ajnr.org]

Rhinorrhea
Case Report Clinical Findings A 63-year-old woman experienced progressive left-sided nasal obstruction and rhinorrhea. She denied epistaxis, trauma, or allergic rhinitis. Symptoms persisted 2 years despite nasal steroids and antibiotics. [ajnr.org]

Dysphagia
However, perineurioma of the esophagus presenting with dysphagia has not been reported before, and we describe, to our knowledge, the first case in the literature. [scholars.northwestern.edu]

Hepatosplenomegaly
There was no associated lymphadenopathy or hepatosplenomegaly. The patient was negative for neurofibromatosis (NF) status. [ijpmonline.org]

Subcutaneous Mass
The latter finding was confirmed both histopathologically and immunohistochemically to have exactly the same appearances of the original dermal and subcutaneous mass. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Extraneural Soft tissue Perineurioma : (Including a conventional form) This is the common type and presents as a painless subcutaneous mass on the limbs or trunk of middle aged adults. 2. Intraneural Perineurioma: Rare type of lesion. [histopathology-india.net]
The patient was initially treated with marginal excision of the subcutaneous mass at a local clinic. Pathologic examination at that time suggested a soft tissue perineurioma with borderline malignancy. [healio.com]

Foot Drop
The authors describe 4 cases in which foot drop in the absence of sensory discomfort was the heralding sign of perineurioma of the sciatic nerve. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Workup
The most useful panel for the workup of a hybrid tumor includes: S100 and Sox 10 (for Schwann cells), SMA (for myofibroblasts), Glut 1 and Claudine (for perineurial cells) and Neurofilament (for axons). [portal.uscap.org]
Careful immunohistochemical or molecular workup is necessary to correctly diagnosis this entity and prevent over treatment. While local recurrence can occur, simple excision with negative margins is usually curative. [materials.uscap.org]
Treatment
The treatment is surgical excision, and no recurrence or metastases are expected. Herein is presented the first case of intraoral sclerosing perineurioma of the lower lip, emphasizing its histopathologic and immunohistochemical features. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Eighteen patients were operated for excision biopsy and or palliative treatment for their motor deficit. [em-consulte.com]
Prognosis
However, the healthcare provider may undertake regular monitoring of the tumor, which is important The prognosis is generally excellent, when the tumors are small, benign and are completely excised The prognosis of malignant type of Perineurioma depends [dovemed.com]
Removal of the tumor may not be necessary because long-term follow-up confirms that perineuriomas are self-limiting and the final prognosis is favorable. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

In other words, cytogenetic changes and chromosomal abnormalities supporting the fact that PN is not a reactive change but a true benign tumor are thought to be the etiology [ 14 ]. [wjso.biomedcentral.com]
Epidemiology
The aim of our study is to present the epidemiology, clinical presentation, way of diagnosis and management plan in a consecutive patient series. Ninteen patients diagnosed as having intraneural perineurioma were retrospectively chart reviewed. [cuidadospaliativos.info]

Prevention
Current medical research has not established a way of preventing Perineurioma. What is the Prognosis of Perineurioma? (Outcomes/Resolutions) In many cases, Perineuriomas are asymptomatic and these tumors may not require any treatment. [dovemed.com]

ConclusionBased on the current demographic trend toward late-in-life pregnancy it is mandatory to establish clear guidelines concerning preventive treatment options of preeclampsia for patients with risk factors. [medworm.com]
