Presentation
Herein, we present a comprehensive review of cAS with discussion of its clinical, histopathological and molecular aspects, the differential diagnosis, as well as current therapies including ongoing clinical trials. cutaneous vascular lesions angiosarcoma [jcp.bmj.com]
Abstract Cutaneous angiosarcoma (cAS) is a rare malignant neoplasm with variable clinical presentation. [pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
A woman in her 70s presented with numerous erythemato-violaceous macules and papules with the tendency to merge into plaques, located on the left breast around a surgical scar (Figure). [amjmed.com]
Although surgery remains a cornerstone of treatment, the tumour size at first presentation may be too large, and the elderly patients maybe not suitable for extensive surgery. [oamjms.eu]

Treatment
Therefore, multimodal treatment with adjuvant radiotherapy and/ or chemotherapy is necessary. Multimodal treatment offers a better outcome than radiotherapy or chemotherapy alone. [oamjms.eu]
Treatment Current Treatment Options Surgery Radical surgery with no residual tumor cell on the margin (R0 resection) is generally the primary goal of sarcoma treatment. [frontiersin.org]

Breast angiosarcoma: This kind of angiosarcoma usually affects women who have undergone treatments like surgery and radiotherapy for breast cancer. [news-medical.net]
Prognosis
No association between latency period and prognosis has been reported for angiosarcoma. [actasdermo.org]
CONCLUSION: Cutaneous angiosarcoma of the head and neck is an aggressive tumour with a poor prognosis. [oamjms.eu]

Although a distinct vascular tumour, cAS shares many overlapping histopathological features with other vasoformative and epithelioid tumours or ‘mimickers’. cAS shows aggressive behaviour and carries a grave prognosis, thus early diagnosis is of paramount [jcp.bmj.com]
As discussed in the previous section, tumor size is the most common factor for poor prognosis, which is commonly related to a positive surgical margin. [frontiersin.org]
Etiology
In this review, considering its rarity and etiological difference, we will focus mainly on primary CAS, the narrow sense of CAS (24). [frontiersin.org]
Epidemiology
Analysis of 434 cases from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program, 1973-2007. Ann Diagn Pathol 2011;15:93-97. VIII. Pawlik TM, Paulino AF, McGinn CJ, Baker LH, et ál. [dermatolarg.org.ar]
Background According to the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program database, the number of patients with sarcoma recorded between 2010 and 2014 was only 1/100 of the number of patients with carcinoma in the same period. [frontiersin.org]
Prevention
Maintenance Chemotherapy To prevent locoregional and distant failure after response to chemotherapy, some previous report continued chemotherapy to maintain the response. [frontiersin.org]
